I’m going to make up for mostly ignoring the court aspect of education by sending it a bunch of my children now. Also it lets Gabriella see the noble who raised her. It’s kinda weird that she calls him dad though.
And my last child is off to court too. I’m going to have to do something about that name, I don’t know what his mother was thinking.
What? Who dares do such a thing? I bet it was Petros, he’s always been a vengeful bastard. Always bragging about how he’s such a great commander when my son had to retake remedial tactics. I guess now he’s just vengeful.
And a dick. He may not be a vengeful bastard anymore, but he’s still a vengeful dick.
Who the hell is this? This isn’t Petros. This is the guy who thinks he’s a worthy heir of James? I can’t even remember him. He’s an Iberian prince, so he must have done something in the war against Burgandy, but seriously? Talk about a big ego.
The strain of continued peace is taking its toll on Arsenios. Wait, what does that even mean? This should be easy for him. It’s not like he has to worry about keeping the kingdom going while I’m off in some uncivilized land draining the treasury with a war.
Maybe his refusal to embezzle the kingdom’s funds is stressing him out.
Army life is not agreeing with Adam. During the last march it started to rain and my son chose not to change out of his wet clothes. Now he’s sick. His mother is worried, but I tell her to let him tough it out. He’s like 5th in line for the throne anyway.
It’s time for another episode of everyone’s favorite show “Let’s Pretend Catholics have any Significance in the Strategic Situation.” This episode introduces the Catholic attempt to take Lisbon from the Muslims.
It won’t be hard to figure out the plot. Odds are a whole bunch of nothing will happen until the Bohemians manage to march across Europe to Iberia and kill the Muslims there.
Then the Pope will declare a great victory and all the Catholics will go home and talk about how important they are in the fight against Islam.
This is why playing with flint and steel is bad. It’s all fun and games until some sparks land in a bale of hay. Then the next thing you know the entire dockyard is in flames.
Only you can prevent dock fires.
And only I can punish arson. Now I know having the culprits burned alive may have seemed extreme, but I’m a make the punishment fit the crime kind of ruler. And I know they were children, but we need to be firm with our youth. And an example needed to be made.
I doubt any kids are going to be playing with fire now.
The merchants of Annaba are mad because they claim burning children alive goes against their religion. That’s okay, I’ve got nothing against burning adults too.
Is court education the correct choice? Does Petros have some nefarious scheme planned? What’s wrong with Arsenios? Will children keep playing with fire? Find out with If You Can’t Do It, Nubia Can!
