If he wants to have heirs, he'll have to divorce with his current wife and arrange a betrothal with one of Carlos' daughters, indeed.

I think what they're saying is that d_barcelona and whatever other duchies are de jure k_aragon (any? I can't remember) de jure drifted into k_spain (or k_castille or whatever) and k_aragon is now titular.

I think Charles V became Imperator totius Hispaniae when he did Sunset Invasion in reverse. Philip V then destroyed k_aragon and de jure-drifted it into k_castille. Puigdemont is viceduke of d_barcelona but wants to revive k_aragon; he doesn't have claim or 51% to do it, though...

That's right. Plus once you are emperor your duchies stop drifting into your kingdoms. Titles can only drift into your primary title.
