If Paradox made a new, final expansion for EUIII, what would you like to see in it?

I would like to see, military unaccess causus belli, and force military access at peace window. It would be fun to just declare war because of needing a military access to some countries. Of course taking any provinces in such war should give twice infafmy as normal. (as an example - barbarossa march thru constantinopole ;) ) Also AI should want to end such wars quickly (not matter they start or they are being attacked).

1. More historical population sizes in the provinces.
2. A more realistic population increase, it seems way too high atm. I think the system needs some -modifiers, once the the province start to fill up.
3. 1 million is not enough as max pop. cap. The game may need a max cap, but this should then not be a fixed number, instead the -modifier could vary a bit, so that the pop. went up and down a bit around the cap for that province.
4. Maybe population having more effect on gameplay, for example tax, production and manpower?

5. A spherical globe. Seriously, the the world map would look so much better, if it where actually globe shaped, so that you could quickly sail from Kamshatka and Alaska. Why limit oneself to 2D maps in the digital age?

i am not sure but i suppose it was imposible because of ice...

I belive you are thinking of the Northwest passage. That is north of Canada (look it up on wiki). But nomatter if there was ice all the way, it should still be a short distance in a game like this. Civ4 did it, even the mickey mouse game Spore did it, so EU should be able to as well. I realize this might not be possible in the current game engine, so it might be a request for the sequel instead =)

Ahha I LIKE IT!:D I'd love to se this in an expansion/ EUIV and number 1-4 in next patch already, cause it can't be so damn hard to make/fix it.

I was just thinking that what I would really like is more ways to develop your provinces. Over the course of 400 years, regions can change radically. I'd like to be able to develop the tax base, manpower, etc. But ideally, more than just this, so I felt like I was really improving things and, ideally, making them more unique.

Basically, I still find the game fairly boring if I'm not fighting some. I mean, I am ultimately a trader at heart, but still without some conflict it gets boring. I would like more options for developing your provinces. Create the Paris of the East, the South, the West, the North...

Some sort of "Great Cities Rise and Fall, *insert province name* has surpassed all others in glory!* or something like that, i'd assume it would have to be a capital or national focus and would have to be invested in heavily, maybe a CoT, a few province decisions (glorious monument, order canal project), and either go with Option 1: Invest in our prestigious city! (lose 500(more?less?) ducats and gain X amount of manpower and X amount of tax, X amount of population growth, some sort of bonus to cultural tradition or yearly prestige
Option 2: *Insert province name* is a savage backwater village!
Gain 500(or however many you lost in the first decision) ducats, -10 prestige, -1 stability(for ignoring a flourishing city the citizens would not like that...).

That would definitely be cool however im sure it may seem OP so idk :p

I'd like population to be represented differently, with more detail on religious minorities, cultural minorities and the total population of a province.

However, i think that something like this, to be implemented, should be easy to research and to understand, and not open to endless discussions about the accuracy of the numbers (as sources for the period aren't at all adapted to a high level of detail, plus a king wouldn't be able to have more info):

  • size of minorities expressed on a qualitative scale (eg: sizable jewish minority (approx. 10%-20% of total population), small sunni minority (0%-10%)

  • the total population should be expressed in thousands, or perhaps also on a scale (eg: small town, huge city...). If it's too hard to research and balance total population of provinces, then the population of cities could still be used

  • no detail on the social composition, as there weren't enough evolution in the period considered and it would be impossible to have accurate numbers

The aim of the thing would be to have a more graduate religious and cultural conversion system and to make the world more believable.

There would be an interface problem with the religious and cultural mapmode though (how to represent state religion, province religion and minority religion(s)?), i'm not sure as to how to fix it to be honest, and the different penalties and bonuses would be harder to read (eg: +2 revolt risk for a sizable minority, but +0,5 for a very small one).

I want: Integrated vassal/dominion/puppet state creator. Where I decide on what provinces I release, the name of the country, religion, culture and their relationship towards me.

This way I can create dominions out of colonies to keep more lean and mean, and create puppet states like a CK-ish North Africa, Egypt, Transoxania or simply whatever I feel like. I am the state, so its mine to give away.

Also, I want viceroyalties, to create semi-autonomous regions within my empire and possibility to delegate the AI to manage and defend them. IE. Still one country, but let the AI manage a certain colonial zone in terms of building improvements or fighting rebels, or fighting at all, kinda like HOI3 theatres.

Historicaly accurate map, while you don't know provinces. (i mean such map with monsters etc.) - it would be fun. Also - no continents shown before the map is revealed... also - AI should try to find way to india, not to colonization (colonization was an effect not an aim - they wanted gold and spices for trade - even when they realized they can get gold from america, they still wanted to get way to India). (player will seek only colonization anyway, but AI should try to be historical, at least somehow).

EDIT : i wanted to add something more but i forgotten it... damn it!!!

Infamy inheriting if you inherit a country, and inheiriting should give cores, only on their cores, and your culture provinces (both), but not in not cored not your culture provinces. Also inheriting such provinces should automaticaly spawn rebbelions there.

4.1b chances inheritance so you only gain cores on provinces with your culture.

Infamy inheriting doesn't make sense.

Librium veto should be changed to : Nobility priviledges, and shouldn't give 15 thousands of army, but should made avab... abab... avail... possible to made province decision : nobility war duties that would be used at war, while noble privileges should be used at peace to made possible to use nobility at war. Because it was so in reality.

It would be much better than that it is now.

Also it should be able to be made in eastern and western tech group.

I had a new idea today:

What if you went one towards decentralization for every 8 new provinces you acquire, whether acquired through war or diplo-annex. This would be a major anti-blobbing measure and would give the player some strategic reasons to not acquire new territory. You could acquire territory if you wanted, but you'd have to keep moving your sliders towards centralization or really lose out.

You could change the number up or down, but 8 seemed about right to me.

The Reformation is in desperate need of major revision, or even a brief glance. considering its the most important event covered by the game and the direct cause for pretty much everything the game purportedly covers that it is only given a brief and nonsensical glance is unforgivable.
It could be alot of fun, but as it stands its just annoying and meaningless.

Also the V2 SoI system. could fit in well.
and AI changing province names when colonising.
