I just thought of something
End those ridiculous missions like "build textile manufactory in every damn province"
give the ability to promise countries land/money/etc to get them to fight on your side.
so basically a bribe to get countries on your side in an already existing war: "I'll give you this and that if you join my side in the war"
+1, would be pretty historical

I also think that Bohemia and Austria shouldnt ''eat'' those opm:s in hre. I also think they should make France less agressive against Italy, which is completly un-historical.

the game's "unhistorical vs historical" matter is fine.

PI needs to work on ROTW by getting rid of those wastelands, making tribes more fun, adding countries, cultures and regions and making it more.....better....

- Overhaul of countries/world outside Europe to make those countries more interesting to play.
- More varied/interesting methods of colonization. (Trading posts/frontier forts/full fledged settlements) Plus make colonization harder earlier in the game.
- Giving different AI countries CHARACTER. It's boring that the AI plays every country almost exactly the same. It's silly to see EVERY AI country rushing for Centralization/FreeSubjects/Innovative from day one.
- More depth in cultural tradition. More ways to spend it and accumulate it. Also countries of (mostly) similar culturial groups should respect the cultural tradition of their sister people and look down on other (backward) cultures' tradition. (I know there is a penalty for tax and RR, but I'm talking about those people outside the border.)
- More late game choices / decision making to spice things up.

Unless they institute some sort of Vicky-esque life meter, the wastelands should stay. They're wastelands for a reason.

Well. I went through this thread. Sure is a bunch of eurocentric superiority complexes here, especially with the notion that the Incans and Aztecs were completely backwards. Do you also believe they had no roads and lived in little huts doing tribal dances while flinging through the forests?

And, I'd love to know what groundbreaking technological innovations the Europeans had made at 1399. Gunpowder? Chinese. Ships? Notion was highly infleunced by the Middle East. Until the Rennaisance, it was, "Hey, would God approve of this? Nope? Nevermind, then!"
Oh no. They practiced human sacrifice, while Europe was thriving with democracy and freedom for everyone. Oh right, serfdom, holy wars, and religious surpression.

Anyhow.
I would like to see the wipe /revamp of the entire concept of different tech groups. Bring them in closer in terms of balance, but keep them varying in bonuses and the such. This is not a history book. This is a game where you get to forge your own history. I don't see why Europeans need to advance 10x the rate of the Aztecs and have units that can roll them even if they miraciously catch up. The entire westernization thing is rather silly.

Am I the only one that has never seen a war similar to the thirty-years war happen in-game? I'd really like to see the climax of the reformation. Otherwise the expansion should of course concentrate on "the rest of the world".

1. Once you get monopolies, you can keep sending merchants to a COT until all the other slots are empty. Then you get the entire trade from the COT. But this cannot be automated. I want a button that keeps sending merchants to a COT until all the other slots are empty. This would save a lot of effort if you are trying to truly monopolize a COT.

2. Something way to stop the same decision from reappearing over and over again, even though you can't/don't-want-to finish that mission. One option would be to make it so that when you cancel a mission, it won't come back for 100 years.

I'd like to see the National Ideas redone so that they are not quite so oriented towards your relations to the Pope or Christian religious issues.

As for the rest - as long as the rest of the world gets some love and playing The Mamluks is different from playing Golden Horde is different from playing Timurids (in more than just 'we fight different guys'), and that expanding, say, Nogai doesn't just mean you're playing as Golden Horde or Timurids except with different flag, then all will be good

On a personal note, my nation of choice is, of all things, Karaman. Some missions or decisions might be nice. Something that means that after a certain stage I'm not just playing the Ottomans only with a much better flag and slightly fewer options.

I wanted to agree with this and say that it is true for Europe as well. I love playing countries where I get unique decisions -- probably true of less than half of the European countries. I would love it if there were simply more unique missions and decisions for all countries, European and non. Anything is good if it makes the different countries seem more unique.

unique missions and decisions for all countries

Well, that would probably be huge and messy.
But at least, they could get specific missions based on, say, culture groups, religions and/or regions.

That way, playing Anhalt won't feel like playing Navarra, which is actually the case and quite sad. :(
(And playing Anhalt will be a little like playing Meissen, but that would seem fairly logical to me.)

Many thing can be done with generic random missions. The only thing, that player would realy aprecciate to gain that "history feeling" is nongeneric description.
Like generic description of whot is doing.
Event: High taxes revolt
description: My (title), that peasant rabble refuse to work on our fields because of high taxes. They even take their silly tools and revolted against us. We have to do something.

(wanna know more button)
genericwhythishappened: When taxes are set high, peasant are unhappy. They don't have money for food etc.....
historicalexample basedonregion/culture...: When Sir Garric of Newfoundland set high taxes because of moneys for mercenary to serve under his banner....

But I would apreciate more mechanic and less bulying (like that in EU2 and MM "When historicaly your nation died, you have to die in game too") of RotW nations, but making this game more interesting of playing them. Less "You have different culture and state religion, you thus are our enemy to death!", but diplomacy (Europeans conquered regions not because of superior army (they didn't have so big advantage), nor economic reasons, but diplomacy, many of local nations was more than happy to unite against their long-life enemies).

I agree that current tech lag and "westernization" situation is a bit silly, and the New World is a bit underpowered. Iroquois & Co. had some importance in the inter-European conflicts in America almost though the whole EU3 timeline, even though their importance was slowly dwindling as time passed on, they didn't become annexed after a European power moved a small stack though their land in early 16th century, and while the desk was certainly stacked against the Aztecs and the Incas, their survival was much more probable then many things you can do in the game. I already made the North American provinces unannexable and increased the tech speed and starting level of exotic tech groups in my personal mod - they still usually fall to the Evil White Men (tm), but they're not as blatantly pathetic as they were previously.

And yeah, more flavour, in and out of Europe, is always good, even the flavour that doesn't involve gameplay. Like, it'd be cool to have the advisors look different based on your graphical culture.

Native Americans should be given some kind of edge when fighting the French and English...Native Americans didn't fight in the open until they were fighting in the plains. And, the only way the west was tamed was because the American cavalry paid Native Americans to be scouts against other tribes.

Another point, AI should sell provinces when their province is located completely within another nation's boundary...or, at least be allowed to make a trade of provinces...limited of course to the fact that both countries are on speaking terms.
