Why would you play with our emotions like that, making the first hint "Is it popular demand" an obvious hint to the Victoria II mod, and then with the minorities and religion hints. You know that Victoria fans have been waiting for a long time to see Victoria III release and to mislead us like that is just a ding-dong move.
I will still love and support your games but it will definitely make me feel less excited for whatever the *other* game will be if it's true. It would have been better to just cross out a Victoria sequel in the first hints and right now the only hints that actually go against this game being Vicky 3 are "Norway on the map" and the last hint. I know you wrote on twitter that it won't be Victoria III or even a Victoria sequel with a different name, but for all we know you could just be messing with us to make us even more excited when Victoria III is announced.

Just something to think about in the future.

Welcome to the life of a Rome 2 fan. They had T shirts printed with Rome 2 on it for F's sake. That's far worse than anything they've done to people who want other games. It's also not going to be Rome 2 this time and they've made it look far more likely that it will be Rome 2 by the hints. So you Vicky guys have it easy.

They explicitly stated it wasn't going to be Victoria before the whole hint stuff to prevent this. What did you expect? They are teasing a game that apparently fits these hints. Not their problem that people failed to listen.

I'd say they did a good job in managing expectations by ruling out Victoria in advance. What more can they do?

I suppose my and many other peoples issue is with the fact that I trust the "hints" more than I trust the Twitter posts, so a hint that excluded Victoria III would have been better if it isn't Victoria III.

They said about 15 seconds into this video all the way back in Feburary that this was not the year for Vicky 3:

So its not just Twitter posts saying no Vicky 3 this year.

Yeah that's a logical approach to things. If someone straight up to my face tells me it's not Victoria that really is a lot less reliable then a bunch of vague hints. (Sarcasm)

Seriously they said it in an announcement video for an expensive conference where they said you could expect something else then Victoria. If I would have went there and they would have said surprise we where lying to you I'm pretty sure I would have had a solid chance of claiming my money back if I'd have taking it to court. You can not straight to lot as a company on what people can expect.

It's not that the hints point to Victoria 3, it's that some people are in such a denial state that whatever they see points to Victoria 3. If they say "This game has air" they're like "Air is needed for coal to burn, Victoria 3 confirmed!".

Wth? Why? Paradox is trying to market a video game, not blow their reputation in order to hide something that isn't going to be a secret for much longer anyway! If anything you should trust the hints less because they're just a bit of fun to keep everyone amused. I seriously don't understand this phenomenon.
