Setting ideology in POP files doesn't work?

Or am I doing something wrong?

AFAIK you can not set ideology in the POP files, I think it was made something the game engine does automatically, although perhaps at first the idea was to have them set in the POP files, but that never made it out of the beta process.

Will ask about that though to confirm.

Actually, it's pretty weird.

When you first load the game, it says like 76% socialists.

Then 1 day later suddenly 85% are conservatives.

So, I *think* the ideology setting works (just... oddly).

I remember trying to do this before the game was publicly released. POP ideology is determined by their socio-economic characteristics and factors within the game. Thus, ideologies that you assign POPs will not last beyond a day, as the game will calculate their "appropriate" ideology and change everything accordingly.

Exactly the opposite is occuring though. :D

For voting and game setup reasons, I have almost everyone set as "conservative" in the CSA pop files. At game start, something like 85% of the CSA is socialist. Suddenly, 1 day later, everyone is conservative.

It's really, really odd.
