Ok, I know I may be posting in the wrong forum for sum of this, please bare with me.

So I had an odd idea for a playthrough to do, problem is 1. I don't know if it can be done, and 2. how to best roleplay it.

Lately I am on a Dutch Republic kick, I was wondering though, if there is a way to create Russia with the Dutch Republic Government type. As far as I know there is not, but I was wondering if I could create the Dutch Republic by forming The Netherlands, taking over Novgorode, culture shift and sell off to vessels, form Russia, then go blobbing all over the Silk Road territories. Also is there a way to work forming the HRE into this. Part of why I like the HRE is not just the powerhouse it can be, but from a RP standpoint it is the Union of the Three Romes. As in Rome was 1, Constantinople was 2, and Moscow was 3. So forming the HRE is the starting point if unifying The Three Romes

Also for RP purposes, could someone please explain the workings of the Dutch Republic to me, most of the research I have done on it is contradictory and convoluted to no end.

Thanks all.

Should be entirely possible, but bear in mind I've never tried.

First, start as a northwest HRE minor or Burgundy. If you're not Dutch and a monarchy, you'll have to contrive that somehow (unless you're Burgundy, in which case you can form the Netherlands anyway because ???). Then you must proclaim Erbkaisertum before forming the Netherlands. Afterwards, you can culture drift to Russian and form Russia (doing so does not flip your government type). Done!

The game doesn't really represent the Dutch republic that well. In reality there was not always a stadhouder, for a long time it was the state secretary of the gewest(province) of Holland who had the most power. There often were two stadhouders, as every gewest appointed a stadhouder, most would follow Holland's choice but Friesland and Groningen would usually choose a different member of the house of Oranje. Most of the time the stadhouder was only in command of the armies, while the Staten-Generaal, in which every gewest was represented, would make most decisions. In general the Stadhouder was only powerful in times of war.

As crazy as this may sound, what if I go this rout to this playthrough, I start as Poland and work my way into the HRE, from there form The Commonwealth, then from there work towards forming The Netherlands and passing Erbkaisertum, and Revoke privilegia, once those two pass, form the Dutch Republic, from there work on forming Prussia then Germany, then go east and work on Forming Russia, and conquered all of Russia's cores, when I have finally got that out of the way form The HRE.

So in short Poland -> Commonwealth -> Holland -> Erbkaiser and Revoke Privilegia -> Dutch Republic -> Prussia -> Germany -> Russia -> HRE, or the other way I could go is same up to Dutch Republic, but instead go -> Russia -> Prussia -> Germany -> HRE.

The idea here is to have as much of a fun challenge as I can while also getting the achievements Just a Little Patience, The Princess is in this Castle, Brothers in Arms, Defender of the Faith, That's a Grand Army, Until Death Do Us Apart, For the Glory, That's a Grand Navy, Victorious!, That is mine!, All belongs to Mother Russia, True Catholic, It's all about the money, Truly Divine Ruler, Double the Love, Winged Hussars, Down Under, Four For Trade, Respected, Marshy March, Grand Coalition, In the Name of the Father, The Emperors new clothes, A Pile of Gold, A Protected Market, Electable!, Sinaasappel!, Viva la Revolución!, The Five Colonies, My armies are invincible!, Cold War, The Grand Armada, My True Friend, No Pirates in my Caribbean, This navy can take it all, Center of Attention, An early Reich, Poland can into space, Master of India, At every continent, Trade Hegemon, The Rising Sun, World Discoverer, Traditional Player, Aggressive Expander, That's a Silk Road, A Kaiser not just in name, Basileus, Total Control, Market Control, World Conqueror.

So basicly 89% of the achievements. Like I said this is to be a challenge, if there is a way I can pull this all off though starting lets say as Gelre and get elected to the Polish throne. So I can get Je maintiendrai, and Vasa or Wettin? shoehorned in. That would be great. That way I can start as a Dutch Minor that PU's into Poland becomes Poland, so Poland can spread west and east to set up for the blobfest.

If a historian was trying to teach this, they would just quit their job. lol

Thanks for listening to my insane idea.
