Got Birth of America the other day, and although I am not familiar with all its workings I was impressed by certian initail aspects
The unit card similiar to RTW works quite well, the distinctions between colonial militia, regulars, siege and filed artillery are a nice feature.
The operation of adding and removing units is simple and effective
One thing that after a few turns becomes apperent is the abslotue nessesity for EUIII to have actual garrisoning of Cities and towns. It creates more realistic parameters to operations than EUII.
The map itself is good without being spectacular and tne 3d counters and towns really add to the overall feel of the game. So if 3d dont work out I would be in favour of a similiar approach in EUIII.
The movement system of BoA works well also.
