Hi Paradox Forums!

This is my first post here, being a long time lover of the amazing game that is Europa Universalis and part time enjoyer of other Paradox grand strategy titles!

I like achievements, there's no denying that. Being almost done with what EU4 has to offer in that catecory, I just found myself doing "Rise of the White Sheep" (murder Qara Qoyunlu as Aq Qoqunlu before 1478) and just realised I've been sleeping on the idea of BOTH of these nations. Both sets are... VERY good. Sadly I've never apart from achievement hunting found myself selecting either. In big part due to other nearby countries with more interesting long term goals.

So, I would hereby like to add a suggestion to give both of these reminders of the "old time" hordes some love, because I'm very sure anyone who sticks with the already formidable base ideas for more than just the first 50 years (far longer than needed for their respective achievements) would have a good time. Maybe towards a revival of the infamous Ilkhanate or their own revival of the Golden Horde? Regardless of the end goal, I feel like these two AMAZING idea sets are currently being wasted as food for the big green Ottoman blob! (Which is fine for a historical map, but most of us diverge pretty far from history while platying EU4...)

Thanks for reading, and if nothing else maybe I've inspired someone to give the Qoyunlus a whirl!
Peace!

The Qonyolu tribal federations are in general a very interesting area at game start.

First of all, much of QQ should in fact either be independent or be a vassal under the tag of Baghdad, representing the rebellious Baghdad governance. These two should very early on get missions to take out the other.

AQ and QQ should later get CBs to full-annex eachother in their MTs, representing what happened when QQ attempted to annex AQ, leading to the collapse of QQ when their ruler died in battle.

There's far more that could be said, but, I'm not sure these two should reform anything Mongol in origin, neither of them ever said they were Mongol successors. In fact, AQ instead claimed to be the direct descendants of the Oghuz Turks! They were more-so leaning towards being Persianate realms with Turkoman rulers. AQ's borders towards it's end would probably be the base goal for both.

Thanks for expanding on my ramblings, I can do nothing but agree with your points. I will stand by the whole "keep the amazing starting ideas alive" though!
Yea, definitely, the ideas should stay the same. Just felt like expanding on their starting conditions and some other things.

I suspect they have some affinity for the Seljuks. Probably not enough to want to reformt he Seljuk Empire, but enough to lay to that empire's borders via missions.

I think they should be able to reform into Persia once they meet the prerequisites. If persia is buffed a bit, which it should be, it would be an upgrade -- the ideas are already very similar, Persia just lacks a boost to coring cost (which I assert it should have -- the Persians were able conquerors and administrators).

I think that a few initial missions should be unique for them, but they can share the rest of the mission tree.
Also, to help Aq Qoyunlu achieve what it historically did, maybe there should be a similar event like its for Oirat and Ming, when the Ming emperor gets killed/captured in a battle?

I suspect they have some affinity for the Seljuks. Probably not enough to want to reformt he Seljuk Empire, but enough to lay to that empire's borders via missions.

Don't we have Karaman as the main successor to the Seljuk Empire?
Yeah, they should be able to reform into Persia, but it should not be made mandatory.
