Good to have humanist go. Being intolerant and convert the place is the way to go. And as mentioned earlier you don't have to be particularly big before that accepted culture idea doesn't help anyway.

I tend to start with small countries, so I always pick quantity sooner or later.

I never pick offensive - seems weak for me. I rate higher quality or aristocratic.

-Economic as it had the potential to be great in the new patch but actually got more weaker to the point of being a bad pick. The price changes and limited building slots made interest reduction stacking pointless while the obscenely high development costs made developing the move you make when you've already messed up.

+ Amin as its actually even stronger now than its ever been. Admin points are incredibly precious due to the fact you pay even more when the AI develops high value trade good provinces with military upgrades that give you 0 men due to overseas, wrong culture, trade company. Also mercs are much more useful since manpower can tank from a few bad losses well into the mid game.

I would actually say that quantity is the worst of the mil idea groups, since you only really need it if you play a really small country.
No, no 1000x no. A small country gets the least use out of quantity. A rapidly expanding country is one that benefits most and preferably a country that already starts with decent manpower, something like a QQ, Golden horde, Bahminis. OPMs don't really benefit as the modifiers are % based.

-Economic because I've seen myself use it less and less as time goes by... Its ideas are excellent, but compared to the ones still around, it pales in comparison.

+Religious because, conversely, I've seen myself use it more and more, and I feel that just for that sweet stability cost modifier it's worth it, and the rest of the ideas make it even better.

I haven't followed this post-by-post, just decided to check in and see how the closing stages are going. Kinda surprised Humanist stayed on its feets as long as it did...especially that it outlasted Diplomatic. And now I'm looking at Religious with the 2nd-highest point total, while Economic is on the ropes.

I guess I need to take a harder look at Humanist and Religious and reassess my own usual choices. Diplo/Econ are two of my "no-brainer" picks, while I've never taken either Religious or Humanist. Maybe I haven't been as optimal as I might have been. For that matter, I've never taken Admin either....

OP, how about another game after this one ends, but to choose the worst IG? Voting the opposite: +1 vote (it's bad) -2(it's good)?
I wasn't going to do another one on the same topic at risk of being repetitive. I was planning on best religion, but im open to suggestions:) ill start another thread on suggestions for the next one once this one is done.

New day, new vote!

+Administrative, because I'm running out of people to vote up for, and Administrative, I feel, is very useful for merc-spamming, and does Quantity's job better at making sure you have steady manpower and warfighting capacity.

-Quantity, because it hardly helps nations that don't have a (very) strong economic base since it's way too expensive to pay for the extra troops you gain with this without adequate income. Out of the ones still kicking, it sucks.
