hi, I think that this event may be turned into decision to make it more dynamic. In the current event, Japan will lost the battle whatever the situation is in Manchuria. If you place many divisions in the specific region, you will lose. If you don't place any divisions then you will lose again. But Japan is really destined to lose against Soviets ? I don't think so.

I think we may replace the event with new decision with conditions like that :

+If you as Japan doesn't place any divisions on the specific location of Nomonhan, Soviets will occupy disputed regions ( and even may be invade Manchuria as Japan is so stupid to leave it defenseless)

+ If place 3 divisions on the related location, you will have 25 percent of victory chance.

+ If you place 6 divisions on the related location, then 50 percent of victory chance.

And we may increase the chances of victory according to division numbers. This way, Battle of of Khalkhin Gol will be much more dynamic event possibly leading to different outcomes. I mean, if Japanese doesn't lose this battle, North Strike Group in Japan may be more dominant and may decide to attack Soviet Union instead of USA. More importantly, I think that such an event may force Japanese player to place some divisions on Manchuria. Currently, Japanese player has no motive to place divisions along Soviet border. Also, dissent hit of event should be increased to reflect its importance.

If you do this, surely the number of Russian divisions in the area should be taken into account as well?

Also, won't it just lead to a canny Japan player sending 6 divisions up to Nomonhan for one day, getting the Nomonhan Incident event to complete, then moving them away again? I'm not sure if an event is the best way to handle this.
