So, I think one of the biggest concerns people have with the battleplan system is the ability of the AI to do encirclements, which it has proved to be extremely bad at in the past. I've come up with what I think is a good feature that would be easy to do and allow the AI to do encirclements efficiently.

Basically, you'd have a line that is different from the normal attack lines, called "encirclement lines" or "breakthrough lines" or whatever. It would take all the divisions attached, and follow the line you make exactly, leaving 1 or 2 divisions behind on each province it goes through, while keeping as many divisions as possible following the line. You could then make two lines that meet up in the middle I've respresented it as best I could in HOI3 here:

Any thoughts?

If you look at the WWW videos there is already an option when doing a battleplan that looks like it does pincer movements.

Failing that I'd put a general on each pincer and a FM with lots of troops on the border. As the generals advance the FM should automatically reallocate troops to the expanding border and hopefully your generals wont get too strung out. Then you can either activate the FM's advance or wait for the units to run out of supply.

Oh, is it in the most recent one? Haven't caught it yet.
