i was thinking about how to deal with the southslavic culture issue to solve it without a local balkanic flame war, balkanic-scandinavian flame war, balkanic-nonbalkanic flamewar or world war 3 erupting, and then an idea occured...
i remembered how leader names worked in eu2. names were assigned to specific tags, but if no names were attached to a specific tag, then the game used generic names for that culture.
ie, southslavic CROA tag would have a croatian name, while southslavic SERB would have a serbian name. but, irish CROA would have an irish name and mongol SERB would have a mongol name.
so, paradox already has a solution that could easily make the balkan name thingey moddable simply by assigning names to royal, ducal and maybe even county titles, another idea would be implementing it to other areas which could be considered a culture group but should have different names. like the rez-erection of the scandinavian culture, or the iberian culture, but with keeping the specific local personal names. this could also cover the lack of certain cultures in the game, like slovakian
how about it?
