So, one of the King of Lotharingia (which I renamed "Midlands" because Lotharingia is derived from the name Lothar, who never received it in my world) has become Iconoclast. Nobody near him is Iconoclast, and I just think it's kinda odd.
Funny stuff! Check his wife or his mother: I suspect what happened was a combination of Iconoclasty displacing Orthodoxy, and him or one of his ancestors marrying an Orthodox woman for an alliance and converting to spouse's religion.
I recall listening to the Byzantine podcast saying that Charlemagne was more willing to listen to the Iconoclast viewpoint due to the scriptural basis of its arguments. The protestant and Presbyterian sects seemed to get it from the same source, so it's not that far fetched.
