This will simply be a short screenshot AAR, without much detail.
Setup is as follows:
IGC 2.3 standard setup, with the following modifications:
- Instead of Norway, Iceland is introduced as a major power.
- Iceland controls Iceland and has a cassus belli against the Norwegian provinces.
- Iceland is a vassal of Denmark and is an ally of Denmark.
- Iceland uses the monarch files of Vinland.
- Iceland starts with an army of 1000 cavalry and 4000 infantry.
- Iceland starts with a fleet of 3 transports.
- The population of the city in Iceland is increased to 1000.
- Danish COT in Skaane.
Settings: Normal/Very Hard, and playing by the Ironman rules.
I'd note that it took some 4-5 games before I hit on the right formula for playing Iceland; one of those ended quite badly (I let myself be surprised by the BB wars in 1520), in the others the momentum of my offensives simply petered out before 1515 due to a lack of money - not a problem, except that I wanted to prove world conquest possible with Iceland. The current attempt, however, can easily be taken on to world conquest, IMO.
