Hi all

I chedked the Wiki, and posts here, seems it has to fire by 1500,,

I tried twice, got a Regency in 1 of them, no dice

Seems everybody gets it but me; are there hidden conditions, or is it RNG i.e. Male heir and female heir , 1 of each in Aragon/Castile

Any help appreciated..

Take care all
Jean

I think you have some misconceptions about the iberian wedding. The heir doesn't matter for the event. Your ruler must have a different gender than the ruler of Aragon. A queen regency counts as a female ruler and a regency council counts as a male ruler for that. In addition to that the event can also happen if Aragon has a regency council and you have a male ruler(but you being in a regency council and Aragon having a male ruler doesn't work). The event can fire between 1450 and 1529. If all conditions are met it takes on average 12 months for the event to happen(120 months if Aragon is in a regency council or queen regency).
Aragon usually has male rulers, so your best bet is to try to get a female ruler(but watch Aragon and see if they got a female ruler/heir).
Do you have the Rights of Man DLC? Then a good way to increase your chances is to disinherit your starting heir(which is a good idea anyway) and possibly other male heirs. If your ruler gets old, you have a higher chance to get the ambitious daughter event that gives you a very good female heir. When your ruler is old and you have a queen consort, you can also accept a newborn male heir and hope that your ruler dies while your queen is still alive and your heir is not yet 15. That will trigger a queen regency(needs also the Rights of Man DLC) which also counts as a female ruler. There is also the event Isabella of Castile which gives you a good female heir, but the chance for it to happen in your campaign is less than 50%.
Of course if Aragon gets a female ruler or heir you should stop trying to get female rulers.

I got many of these conditions, it never fired...

Great Advice, I had a female heir in 1500 , it never fired

I did disinherit the heir at start, I had Regencies twice at least..
I was wondering what I did wrong...

Thank you!
Jean

The heir in itself doesn't matter. She has to become your ruler to matter. Contrary to history the rulers marry in eu4 and not the heirs(and it doesn't even create or change an ingame marriage). And of course a female ruler doesn't help if Aragons ruler also happens to be female.

I did disinherit the heir at start, I had Regencies twice at least..
Your regencies don't help if they are not queen regencies. With a queen regency, you have a good chance as long as Aragons ruler is male.

BTW: the wiki has all the details about this event(and most other events): https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Spanish_events#The_Iberian_Wedding
