That would only be for a "NONE" territory you could claim it for. When we're looking for a kingdom, especially smaller ones, we try to find the greatest extent, not the smallest.

Have you looked at Granada at its "greatest extent"? :D

Grand-four-province kingdom there, that you have :p

Ok, make that a grand 4 provinces: Granada, Malaga, Almeria and Algeciras. Still too few for a kingdom. Of course, I guess when you say applying the greatest extent for a kingdom, you will apply the same policy to Castilla. It would not be fair otherwise, I feel...
No, i mean when applying only to minor kingdoms, period. The more minor the kingdom, the greater the latitude given. Thus germany would be given no extra latitude as it is the largest.

Once again... the greatest extent of Granada, in CK terms, is four provinces. That's it. Navarra's out with four provinces and 600 years of history to support it. So please tell me how Granada, with four provinces and just 250 years as a muslim kingdom (that's somewhat important, it never was a christian kingdom) should be in.

Granada is out of the picture as far as I'm concerned.
Making it NONE is undesireable,
ergo the winner of the struggle for southern Iberia is...
Castille.

I just can't get people in the EU3 forum to accept that "Situational Events" doesn't mean "all random events".

I'm also running up against people that would rather watch a 36 hour historical movie rather than play a game.

It's killing me.

Oh jeesus. Such a big thread just to speak about the "kingdom of granada"? Anyway, if you guys think that a kingdom isn't made of "4 provinces" then you are totaly wrong. If any of you know anything about Portuguese history, then you should know that the first Portuguese King was Afonso Henriques. His Kingdom, however, was not like the modern Portugal everyone knows. His rule didn't go much further then the River Tejo (Tago, or whatever in english). A century or two later, one King (forgot the name, sorry), managed to unite whole modern portugal under one banner. He, then proclaimed himself the King of Portugal and of Algarve. I can't tell you what provinces Algarve actually is in CK, but it is something about 2-4 provinces. Instead of a Kingdom of Granada, there should be a Kingdom of Algarve instead. Not only it is totaly unfair on gameplay terms (yes, Castille/Leon may manage to get 3 free King titles, not to speak about Aragon/Navarra) but it is also not historically correct.

Another funny thing is that, the river Douro (Duero in CK, stupid translation), passes between Lisboa and Coimbra and passes through Madrid as well! I don't know which river passes trough Madrid, but i think it is the Tejo (Tago, in english, bleh). But for Lisboa and Coimbra... Oh My God, if i may say. Its like 300 km from Lisboa to Porto (the river Douro actually passes through Oporto, not through Lisbon). Sometimes i wonder what Paradox Proggramers were doing while they were making the games. I bet they were tired and almost sleeping after so much work.

Talking about creatable kingdoms... that doesn't mean, in a given scenario start, a king of Portugal can be a king with just two or three provinces as a realm (just like Navarra, there's a king in the game, only you can't recreate the kingdom if it disappears). It was decided that at least six provinces is the minimum to make a kingdom creatable... so there's no Algarve (which wasn't really a kingdom, actually, but rather a title the king gave himself trying to gain some prestige, just like many others castillian kings used), there's no Granada... and there's no Navarra (so sad :( )

Hey... thanks, Duero is it's name in Spanish :p Guess it's a stupid language though :D :D

There's a way 4 provinces kingdoms are called in this side of the crusade, foreigner (said in a Western movie tone ;) ). We call them 'Duchies'. That's why we were talking before of turning 1 province Aragon in 1066 into a duchy. And making Navarra a non-recreatable tittle.

By the way, Duero is not a stupid translation, but the Spanish name of the river.

Oh, and don't be surprised to find such a huge thread. It seems that Iberia equates polemics here in CK. I still remember the day when Txini and me, among other Spanish posters warned that iberian muslims where something quite similar to space aliens invaders armed with laser beams (compared to iberian christian kingdoms, at least), then just everybody not only laughed at us, but then accused us of "Spanish nationalism" (some of them with quite rude terms, if I might say so).

Of course, a pair of patches after that, every single thing we said was proved true and they changed everything to a more normal situation...

BurningEGO, if you think this is big thread, you should have seen the 10+ pages we were yelling blue-faced at each other in the claimable areas thread. :D

Seems like Granada is pretty much settled then. I'll still strive to make sure that there is easily addable kingdom of Granada for modders.

Could you PLEASE do the same with Navarra? Even if it's just four province (Vizcaya, Rioja, Navarra and Labourd) I'd really like to have it...

Navarra is easy added as an creatable kingdom, it already has its own tag, you just have to mod the provinces.csv file and gives those provinces the Navarra tag in the kingdom part of the line

It already is - the kingdom title already exists, all you have to do is assign it some default provinces. ;)

It already is - the kingdom title already exists, all you have to do is assign it some default provinces. ;)

By the way... I guess I'd have to remove those provinces from another kingdoms list, right?

EDIT: As you can see, my modding skills are non-existing :D

Open province.csv with text editor. Find the correct provinces, they are named in the file. Change FRAN, ARAG or CAST tag (depending on prov) to NAVA. Voila, recreatable Navarra.
