I started using computers (PC type) in 1985. The games then ran on my PCjr with 128K (thats right 128 KILOBYTES) of RAM. They were fun, fulfilling, and had great replay value.

Today, too many games go for flashy graphics, sound effects, and instant gratification. Paradox games remind me of the games I started with. Perhaps not on the cutting edge of graphics, but solid, enjoyable (for the most part), and worthy of hours and hours of replay. A game that is so good that you keep it, and play it over and over. Games that you CAN play on an older laptop as well as the desktop with a better graphics card. Games that have depth to them.

So, from an old fogey, Thanks Paradox.

I want to thank Paradox for making a game that covers this time period. It is one that I really enjoy and computer gaming has mostly ignored. The only recent exeptions that I can think of are Imperialism I and II. Although I enjoyed those games, they seemed too narrow in focus and too generic/ahistorical. I have been waiting for this game since 1985 when I got board with the limitations of Colonial Conquest on my Atari home computer.

And as for as system requirements go, I am still going to have to upgrade my ancient computer to pay this one. But this game will give me the incentive to start saving my money!

Thanks Again Paradox!

yes thanks for making strategy war games that aren't JUST the American Civil war or WWII.

Come to think of it can anyone here remember a game ever made about WWI other than the occasional flight sim like Red Baron? I personally can't think of one which is surprising, maybe game makers think WWII is just more sexy or something along those lines.

Man bugar och tackar!

Very lovely with a company that dares to try out a little different, and in that managed to make some real classics. I never ever played anything near as much as I have played EUII. Thanks a lot!!!
