Obviously i loved that it was out so quickly, but it would have been out on the same time no matter if it was announced a couple weeks or a couple months ago

I know you say development time is a factor, but the 8 dev diaries were quite informative and full of content, would have been nice if they were spread out over a few weeks instead of days.

Time is the most precious thing in digital development. We have to respect this. Asking for reduce the production time is like asking to reduce the content of the expansion. ParkLife and Industries has more depth on the gameplay than the others expansions, because CO invested more time on it. Maybe the next expansion will be release at announcement.:D:D:D

But I agree that could have more little informations about random facts. ;)

As a gamer I LOVE developer interaction, especially their thought process on development and tips on how to use mechanics. These really do keep me engaged.

As a video game developer I DREAD it. The PR team will usually knock on our door and the entire team sighs. "30 minutes guys, I just need 30 minutes for a quick post." And then if you don't give them those 30 minutes of time away from your development time, then the PR team will do it, and you don't want a PR team who isn't actively developing a game to do a developer diary.

So you give in and knock something out and try to not make it feel dialed in. But wait now PR wants some screenshots top go along with it. And then the edits: "Oh wait you can't talk about that yet. Oh wait don't say it like this. Oh no no no, you cant promise that." I make video games, not PR ready marketing pieces! ARGH!

So as someone who loves sausage and knows how the sausage is made, I really do appreciate when companies have passionate team members who can balance this and make interesting articles for their game, because lord knows I am garbage at it; But I also understand when you have a team who is busy with development and really not great producing those entertaining development pieces. (The Stellaris team has this on lockdown!)

I didn't ask to reduce dev time, i pointed out that a lot of other devs manage this balance well
