Here I stand with the USSR, and I, as with most of my hoi2 games, have cheated. I have around 20,000k energy, and 4-500k each of metal, oil, supplies, and money. My base IC is somewhere between 170-200, but my cheating has raised the middle ic # to somewhere in the 4 thousands. I have 5-600 armoured divisions, 2-300 light armored divisions, and 1-300 motorized infantry divisions most of them deployed in the west against what is currently poland. The date is 1937, i am not sure of the month and day, but I am fairly sure it is 1937. I ask you, where should I take my game?

Well, with USSR you can do a world conquest easily, even without cheating, so, I would suggest you something like what I am trying now with USA: Release and stop control over any puppets, and, chose a date (or wait to be dowed) and DOW the whole world at once! (I would suggest when Germany begins its Barbarossa, although I really doubt they will couse I think they must have an army in par with you to do it...)

ve: It was truly supremely obvious. What else would there possibly be to do with the USSR at such might?

guardian: With an army the size such as I have, I could probably steamroll germany.

white: that would certainly be difficult, unless I used the molotov-ribbentrop pact events to ally myself with Russia! then together we would be unstoppable!(laughs maniacly)

don't worry roy, I will consider your suggestion.

What I want to know is how come you find a game where you have cheated so much interesting enough to play? I play the game for the mental challange and usually ends the game when the challange is no longer there. For instance when I as Ger has BP'ed Russia and own continental europa, then I know victory will only be a matter of time and it will be less fun and more of a chore to defeat the remaining nations. So why do you play a game where you have cheated that much?!

To each their own. Everyone plays HOI for different reasons. I play for stress relief and use the F12 key occasionally when things get too sticky and it's either punch out the computer or "modify" the situation a little. It's not like it matters to anyone else. MP different situation, but then that's a whole nuther ball of wax.

to be honest, in 1936 when the game started, all my resources were at about 3-400k right after I cheated. The challenge to me will be taking everything, as I have never done that before. It may seem as if I made it too easy, but to be truthful, I am just too lazy to try to make any real accomplishments. Perhaps, too add some extra fun I shall decide to dow the whole world afterall. Just if it gets too boring. Besides, making all those armoured and motorized divisions w/o removing any of the previous divisions drained all my manpower from 9999 to 1000-1500. Especially since I also reduced build time to like 1 day.

Only one thing to do, DOW all countries at once then F 12, make demands , and take all of the provinces except the capitals. Next F 12 and steal all the blueprints or just give yourself the blueprints . Possibly this is to much work is there someone else who can do all the typing for you ? Why not let this other person play the game and do all the typing while you watch TV and they can text you the results.

I play all videogames including those in the hoi series for stress relief, like ecnan. What adds to a game is if it is challenging, like the romanians are.(if only I could post a screenshot). To explain, the romanians beat back my 20 divisions, and I plan to add to those divisions. Tex, I do draw a line between fun and not fun. With your suggestion, you cross that line, at least the part where I, of all people, actually let someone else play the game. I am already in the process of conquering scandinavia, having taken finland last night. (i wish I could figure out how to post a screenshot).

(i wish I could figure out how to post a screenshot).

To take a screenshot: While playing press: F10 or F11 or F11 or F12. (not sure which one it was... try them if you can cause I have no time now...)
Then, it is automatically saved in the folder: C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Doomsday (Or whatever folder the game is installed to, it is where teh hoi2.exe is) like a bmp file.
Else, you can press PrintScreen from your keyboard, alt-tab, open drawing program or something, click paste, and then save the file...
I Used to use a great program called Bo shot which, when you presserd printscreen automatically saved a jpg fille with a screenshot of your window at that time, but can't seems to find any good link... However you can search , there are also other screenshot capture softwares...

After that, use an online site such as http://tinypic.com/ (doesn't need any account or something) or http://photobucket.com/ (needs a free account i think) to upload this pictures, then, simply code the url they wioll be giving you and paste it in the forum (iirc, tehy both give you a "forum" url, which has already the tags needed (

Cheating (or any kind of save game editing) is a good way to explore different situations which don't occur in the game without it.

Although I usually don't use cheats, I don't urge others to quit it. All in all, this is a virtual game, not a real life championship.

But beware - cheating is addictive ;)
