The year is 2810 and the galaxy finally belongs to the Zithorian Scourge. So here are my very-late game suggestions

Otherwise I must say, best game I've played in years. Thank you Paradox!
Huge galaxy with the following mods:
- Lower warscore
- Four Ethics
- Reduce Truce Time
- The late game lag is death. Hope this is fixable
- Sector AI: where do I start? Random emancipations, prioritising wrong buildings, building over player-allocated modules, random and endless movements of pops, hogging resources but never building things.... I can go on
- Lower cede/abandon warscore for small/mid size empires. Having to purge mid-sized empires piece by piece (even though I had the armies to occupy each and every enemy planet) was soul-crushing
- The 10-year truce needs to be reworked. The last 100 years of my playthrough were mostly spent waiting on truce counters. See that small vassal for example? Will likely take two wars (+10 years) to eradicate.
- Strategic resources. Allocating these to sectors in the beginning is tolerable. But by the time you're managing a massive empire it becomes very tedious. At some point I just gave up.
- AI needs to cooperate better. There I am (together with my Prethoryn cousins) busy purging the galaxy and the AI barely does a thing. Just hollow threats here and there. Was really looking forward to all out galactic Armageddon.
- Border friction: at some point I had a 500-1000 friction malus with an empire that didn't share a border
- Give us a late-game extra govt ethic or ability to properly change ethics. Livens up the game & really great for role-playing
- Few more repeatable techs would also be nice
Things that become completely useless towards late game:
- Terra-forming: costs too much and takes way too long
- Every weapon except tachyon lances and PD
- Every governor trait except "architectural interest"
Otherwise I must say, best game I've played in years. Thank you Paradox!
