I started as Haestinngs and took over Lithuania, now about 3 generations later I have the Wendish empire and its all reformed Romuvan. Money/tech are crazy high, and I have pretty decent levies.

My goal is to wipe out Catholicism and replace it with Romuvan.
A) is this feasibly possible in approx. 250 years?

B) I'd like to do it without as much /LAND/ as possible. I'd prefer not to expand past Wendish empire, so I don't blob more. I'm fine with war. I know one idea is to get claimants, convert them, install them. This is great and I did it once to the African kingdom and Finland, but its very very hard. Even with carousing and high diplomacy I can't seem to claimants to join me, and when they do, its always weak claims. So I have to plot to kill basically all the people ahead of them until its a regency or woman in charge (or my guy is third in line). This is really, really hard. Plot to kill takes a while even at 100%, and its almost impossible for me to get higher than that since the -'s for religion make everyone hate me.

How can I make the above work better/easier/faster? Is there a better way to convert nations without taking land?

edit: I have all 5 holy sites, my MA is bouncing between 90-100. Catholic MA is 40-60, I took Koln and Kent, and they don't own Jerusalem. AFAIK know though, this only helps me convert land inside my country, and only increases heresy spread inside Catholicism. Not really helpful for what I want to do. Right?

I want to wipe out Catholicism
Raid until you kidnap a heir prince/ss. Marry them to your junior children (matrileneally for princes). Demand conversion. Wait for succession, kill their parent, or press their claim.
I just love taking quotes from CK2 out of context. Anyways, as he said the easiest way is to kidnap and indoctrine members of the royal family. You can also start a single holy war and drive the warscore way past one hundred percent by taking everything the opponent owns and hoping that he takes the decision to convert. Unfortunately, I don't know what the likeliness is that a Catholic would convert to a pagan religion or if it even appears to Abrahamic religions.

Can the warscore go past 100%?

These are cool ideas I hadn't thought of though. Thanks!
The meter won't show it as being past 100% but you can do things that will make your actions add up to way past 100%. Anyways, that isn't really important. The main point of what I was saying was to not enforce peace even if it says 100%.

The chances are zero, according to the wiki. Only Pagans can convert to the attackers religion.

Just remember that even if you wipe out Catholicism they just revert to Sith-mode: always two there are, the Pope and the Preferati.

Well, and Zoroastrians, who are most certainly not pagan.

Not quite right - any Catholic mercenary companies and holy orders will also keep generating Catholics out of thin air.

Sure, but that doesn't make as good a joke. And they're not Catholic Lords anyway, just generic mooks comparable to all those "Dark Jedi" guys running around Star Wars Legends even when the rule of two was in place.

Personally if you're not wanting to hold the lands, I'd still conquer, if you feel strong enough, take each catholic holy site to cripple their MA. Bit by bit conquer the stronger catholic kingdoms and give them to others of your faith once they're stable enough that it wont explode the moment they sit on the throne.

EDIT: To clarify, release the new kings as independents
