I second, err well somewhere between second and twenty-ninth that emotion.
I'd urge anyone who doesn't have DH who has $10 to give them a swing. I'm 100% satisfied with this game in a way AAA devs have not satisfied what I hope for in the game they pitch. This game has for a WWII strategy game what most top titles lack even with a year's worth of an active modding community (if they even let them do it).
Heh, I was going to ask "where can I donate $10", then I remembered this isn't a mod but a game. It's my most played HoI game by far (own all of them), and I've purchased it twice so I'm in the clear.
HOI IV made me reinstall DH and HOI3 again.
Back to the good days!!
New HoI games get me into the mood for WW2 games, but PDX always fails on launch so I go back to the best.
Am I the only one who dislikes the new 3d terrain and map of the Clausewitz engine? IMO if you have to do 3d then you have to match other games (TW, CIV 5, etc.) to avoid having your game look like it was made in 2005. A properly done 2d terrain and map can easily beat a badly done 3d terrain and map.
It doesn't stress my god-computer (man I love her, maybe it should be goddess-computer), but I agree. In a strategic war game all I need is a flat 2D map and unit chits. It works perfectly well for my board games so it should work far better with a computer game with many more options to make it lively. So for me it's not that my computer can't run it (though I can see that is a major problem for many people), it's just I don't need it and don't want to see it.
