It seems like this game is designed to build big cities, I just want to build a small town with farms and houses and a little industry. Any tips and what to do? I'm totally lost, SC4 was easy to do this.
Am I missing something about farms? I only see industrial zoning. SC4 had farming/low/med/high density industrial.its simple, dont build any high density buildings.
Under districts, there is forestry and farming. You need to have first at least 750 citizens I think.Am I missing something about farms? I only see industrial zoning. SC4 had farming/low/med/high density industrial.
I understand now... I think. Another dumb question, how do I know it is fertile land?

I would suggest you try your hand in map editing and just cover the entire map with fertile space for your agricultural industry and something optimal for your farm town. I assume you want to build something like Kansas lol
Plus with mods unlocking all tiles, you could make your long winding roads every which way. Mods, love them and cherish them!(Especially the modders)
Farming and forestry unlocks once you have a population of 700 or you can switch on the inbuilt 'Unlock all' mod (main menu, content manager, mods).
I would imagine someone will eventual create a mod that unlocks farming from the start. It's done the current way to introduce people to game concepts gradually, but when you've done it once, it makes more sense to have some things from the start.
