As France in 1419 GC using 1/24/04 patch, I did well in my initial round of wars, and I am getting ready to diploannex my initial vassals. Everything that should be needed seems to be in place (vassalized, allied with me as leader, > +190, vassalized since game started and it is now April 1429, have land border, am much larger in all respects, good diplo rating on my monarch).

The only possible glitches are: one is at war with Eire and I am not (I left the war, and even though I am the alliance leader that did not take Provence out of the war).

Two others are at war with each other (happened right after Scotland called us all and Auvergne declined).

Besides that all I can think of is that they do all have more allies than just me, since it is a multi-way alliance.

2. Incidentally, when Scotland and I (me as alliance leader) conquered all of Eire, the game still did not give me a +100% peace rating. I am pretty sure Eire did not control anything else.

Diploannexation requires the nation to be annexed (but not the nation doing the annexation) to be at peace. Since your vassals are at war, you cannot diploannex.

Does Royal Marriage matter?

Thanks!

I notice also that while I have royal marriages with Scotland and some others, I do not with my initial vassals, nor do I have the option to create them. Is this just unnecessary once you have vassalization?

Vassalization is a stronger form of RM.

RM's are needed for vassalization, unless done by war or event. Hmmm... i remember I had Saxony vassalized for a long time w/o having the ability to annex 'em... took a wil until i realised It was 'cause of alliance... I needed to be in an alliance with them... dunno why I said, just did:p

For your score of less than 100% against Eire, I think it's due to one of the last patches. ASFAIK you need to control ALL provinces YOURSELF to gain a warscore of 100 (and be the warleader if I'm not mistaken). So, wait for Scotland to negociate peace separately, take the provinces it'll relinquish, and go for the 100. :D
