The reason everyone takes master of nature is because it's insanely powerful, the downside is that once you remove your blockers/get to effectively infinite resources, it isn't as good as other perks. Even so, it's so good that "everyone takes it".

I said it in another thread on this issue but I think unity should be used towards ethics attraction once you run out of traditions (or even before if you choose).

How about removing/changing some ascension perks.
Most people probably go for master of nature as first perk. How about the ability to change that far down the line when it becomes obsolete.

I've never once chosen Master of Nature.

I said it in another thread on this issue but I think unity should be used towards ethics attraction once you run out of traditions (or even before if you choose).

An interesting idea might be to tie an ethics attraction bonus to Unity. So the more Unity (as a % of your maximum) you have, the larger the bonus, leading to a total bonus of something like +30%.

This would then lead to a situation where choosing a tradition represents a kind of 'shake up' of the established status quo.

An ideia to make unity useful in the late game (after you complete all Traditions) is to use it to upgrade the Ascension Perks. The cost increasing like the cost of tradition (when i finished the cost was 30k unity for each tradition)


Here some ideias:


-Tecnhological Ascendency: each upgrade gives x% more Research Speed.

- The Flesh is Weak: each upgrade reduces the time to turn pop into cyborg/synthetic.

- Synthethic Evolution : each upgrade reduces the growth time of synthethic by x%

-Voidborn: each upgrade gives x% more build speed for Habitats

-Galactic Wonders: each upgrade gives x% more build speed for Wonders

-One Vision: each upgrade gives x% Unity production and x% Governing Ethic Attraction

-Master Builds: each upgrade permits one more Megastructure construction/upgrade at the same time

I prefer the permanent bonus, but the temporary bonus are a good ideia as well

Everyone in the thread has some good idea's on using Unity. However, 1 thing that hasn't been mentioned, is the new Faction system. Think about it. "Unity" the word itself describes what it should be used for imo. Which is unifying your species.

Personally, I think you should be able to "Favor" certain factions in your empire by spending a % of your unity per month. Similar to how Suppressing it uses Influence. This way you can try to sway the Factions and populace in the direction you want. It'd be expensive though, 10% of your monthly unity gain per favored faction, but it would give a boost across the board to it.

Like-wise, instead of using Influence to reform your government, it'd instead cost a base Unity amount. This also would slow down the ascension gains as governments are reformed, etc.

Another idea is to have a new policy choice. "Forced Re Education". Basically, similar to what nations did in WWII, captured nations populace would be "Re Educated" forcefully and indoctrinated. Germany did this to French, and Polish civilians, forcing them to learn German culture, national anthem, etc.

If your policy allows for "Forced Re education", then you can pay a sum of Unity per pop, to force them to change to an ethic of your choice. This would take time, and they'd be upset the whole time its happening, but if successful they are changed to what you want, and re educated. It could be a cool combo with Chemical Bliss for certain civilizations. Chemical Bliss the pop while re educating them to your ways to keep the rebellions down.

I'm not even sure if should be possible to fill out all the trees. I kind of think there should be more trees and some should be mutually exclusive or blocked/allowed by certain ethics etc.

I also agree that there should be other uses for unity besides the tradition trees.
