Tons of OPM decs against people allied to the likes of austria, burgundy, poland and most hilariously the popes repeated deccing of HRE princes.

i'm glad i'm staying in 1.9.2 for now.

I really hope that patch won't be the called "the game version before everything went FUBAR due to devs trying to restrain players from so called "using WAD ingame mechanics to loot Ming for 300+ducats a year " and whatnot.

I'm just joking here, but seriously? If this is true (and not some fake "yesman" console thread) then Paradox has more to fix then it actually added, patch wise..

Yeah, it got worse since 1.11.
In my latest game, Austria without Burgundian lands attacked bloated Ottomans on its own in 1500. Of course, they got annihilated. The HRE was open for business and got eaten by Brandenburg, Poland, France, the Pope and Burgundy. Now AI Prussia destroys everyone, funny to watch. Thank God I'm Persia.
I did some tests, it seems that the AI doesn't check ally strength or recruitment potential at all anymore. I deleted my entire army as full grown Persia and even 5 province hordes dowed me, despite me being allied to the most powerful nation on earth (the Turks in this game).
The ally stuff seems like a bug. Yet even without it, the AI really has to factor in the economic potential of a nation. I had 2000 ducats and 100k manpower, Aq Q had like 17k troops in total. How could it ever win, even without my allies?

Oh yes, it appears, I think, due to 1.11.3. As defender of the faith I happily accepted easily a dozen or so wars during the reformation wherein some small nation in the HRE would decide to attack and have 3, 5, 10, infinity nations allied against them as a result.

I did have to actually do some work when a Catholic Chernigov or whatever when the AI actually attacked them with more allies than Chernigooey had. This was the exception to the rule, however,

Other than that, the attackers now seem to be exceedingly optimistic. This works out quite well for my Papal State games :)

Haha, yeah, DoF is a guaranteed non stop war now. It's funny when someone with bottomless resources like France or the Commonwealth take it. I've seen AI France in constant war for 100 years in my last game, at one time it have been 10 wars at once, 9 of them against HRE minors.

this problem is an old one.

I just observed 2 province Greece attacking Ottomans, after I occupied them (when they had 0 army). Obiously, they lost after I peaced out. This is in 1.9.2.

So it seems AI looks at military rating or standing army of a nation when deciding to attack. If another war plummets it, even tiny nations attack big ones.

So I'm not sure if 1.10 or 1.11 actually changed how AI calcuates succes chance when deciding to do a DOW or not.

It does. As mentioned before, the AI often fails to take allies into account since 1.11. You never saw something like Brunswick vs western Europe in older patches, this is new.

Ah, but with the whole MA thing it actually can backfire into quite the mess in other wars.

There is some conflagration of MA wherein I've been totally unable to siege my ally's war target because once you get to around 6 or 7 wars at the same time, suddenly the automatic MA for enemies has spread between wars such that the game thinks you have military access to your enemy. I've run into this several times now. The good news is the wars are easy to win. The bad news is this can actually impact wars that matter. It affects being defender of the faith quite a bit (thus the 6 or 7 wars part).

Game is a total mess of late.

There is an even worse bug

If you have 0 troops. Like literally 0. The AI will never declare war on you.

Uusually if you get stacked wiped or whatever down to a couple guys the AI jumps on it and attacks. But not anymore.

So when you have 0% rebels chance just delete your army and save a ton of cash cause no AI will bother you.
