As you know, at certain amounts of victory points, you get promotions. Because you do well, you get more victory points, and I think I definately deserved this one, even though it was only for going from negative to positive victory points. I have to say, I've have worked wonders for the country. :D

First, I set my minting money to max, and haven't changed it since.

Then, I immediately declared war on Zulu, took their province, and kept on wartaxing twice a year. This, combined together, only gave me 3% a year. So I started to take massive loans and make as many troops as I could.

I kept on making troops, until my support costs skyrocketed. I kept on wartaxing, but eventually my loans gave out and I went bankrupt. Made peace with Zulu, because I couldn't wartax at -3 stab. Kept on recruiting guys when possible.

Eventually, after recruiting enough guys, I started to go bankrupt every 3 or 4 months. I kept on recruiting guys on the off months where it would give me loans, and not bankrupt me. Eventually, units because to expensive to do this, however inflation continued to carry my support costs up and up, while my income remained the same palty 10. Soon, I was going bankrupt every other month, and now, every month. :D

People really play Paradox games too much when they're wasting their time with this...

no really, it was a fun read. Guess we could call it "The guide to ruining your empire as fast as possible and get promoted while doing it" :D

Link to screen shot didn't seem to work properly. Took me to Tripod but no image there.
That's because you need to actually copy the link address into your browser. Clicking on the link in MrT's post is not enough.

I dunno, bankrupcies actually didn't give me minus vps. I got minus vp's somehow, but then I killed some rebellions (won battles) and it moved me back up. :)
Well, losing battles and/or entire wars can definately cost you VP points. Also, there are some random events that give negative VP. It is therefore quite possible to drop below zero :p Failing to accomplish missions also cost VP points.

Jan Peter

Declaring war and/or loosing stab costs VP - easily noticed when you start a campaign by making a DoW on january 1st :)
