If your leader is of a different religion, will your chaplain dude convert people to the same religion or his own?

Or does 'invite a holy man to court' automatically create a new religious chap with the leaders religion

Your chaplain will convert people to his religion. The other day my monophysite chaplain urged me to convert!

Right, I think ParadoxianLP's Smolensk game featured such a conversion, and he reloaded from save. There's just too much missing from the Pagan Court's and available actions to make it worth playing much, that's the problem.

I wonder what those actions are really. When you get reload as the ruler who became pagan, everything is the same except relations hit to characters. There are events where people prod you to become normal again, and events where your chaplain converts other people to your (and his) new religion. Pagan or Islam are handled like heresies.

After decades or centuries, when your whole realm is firmly pagan, then the events might not fit any longer, just like playing the Seljuks from the start.

ah that makes sense actually.. but if you're on good terms with the chaplain, you can probably ask him to convert to your religion..

then let the revolution begin!

probably why there needs to be a DLC expansion for this. Mostly for the muslims, but pagans need more avenues to convert. Holding out and spreadining paganism is pretty much doomed from the get-go.
