In the Demo , since the time is very limited, i couldnt prove my theory, but what i did was:
I Was playing as Duke of Iceland (using that start gamem chheat) and i arranged marriage with my Heir and a girl from a pagan polish family,
Then, the heir of my son had the religion of his mother. Which makes me believe that if he took power (the game ended before that), since he is the leader, the religion would change too. And i tested this mechanics on porpose, unfortunately the demo limited me :( .
Any one tested it?

I think it is a known fact that you can change your leaders religion (or get a pagan leader that way) that way and play him, but what you cannot do is reload such a saved game or more specific you cannot select pagan countrys when loading a savegame and this includes your country which is now leaded by a pagan.

so if i had the possibility to save the game in the demo, and i succeded in converting the Duchy of iceland, i wouldnt be more able to play it?

no. This has been stated over and over actually :) the full game only focuses on the christian states, with western catholic feudalism being the norm.. You can play as other christians as well, but they won't be as accurately represented, and the muslims won't be playable :/ (although, we can always hope for a DLC that adds alot of content)

EDIT: emu'd -.-

Muslims and pagans are fully playable, at least in the demo and with some tinkering, but lack proper mechanics and events.

You can convert your ruler, save the game and reload as the ruler in the full game. Paradox has confirmed it.

Right, I think ParadoxianLP's Smolensk game featured such a conversion, and he reloaded from save. There's just too much missing from the Pagan Court's and available actions to make it worth playing much, that's the problem.

If your leader is of a different religion, will your chaplain dude convert people to the same religion or his own?

Or does 'invite a holy man to court' automatically create a new religious chap with the leaders religion

I tried testing this: as an Orthodox ruler I had a monophysite (heresy) court chaplain head an inquisition that converted individuals to standard orthodox. I didn't see, however, if his efforts would convert the province in addition to individuals (1086 rolls around pretty quickly :roll eyes:)
