I imagine it slows down the rate of childbirths in the nation. In my current game, 5 out of 7 males in one family married the same woman and she has a 6 year old daughter. I don't know if that was before they all got married or if she later married others.

Any idea when this might be fixed? This makes it impossible to play. I've started 2 campaigns in the last week, and gave up on both of them because I couldn't have a kid. Every child turned out to belong to a different "husband", so went to those families leaving me with no heirs except the other aging members of my house. As a result my ruling family just declines until there are none left.

I encountered the same bug.
It seems to only work within certain families.
Some men are married to women who are not the consort sometimes, but this is the exception.
So far it is reproducible in Crete states. Knossos on start right away e.g.
