a different but kinda related axis could be character driven vs state driven. I may personally lean towards wanting more character stuff in the game but i would not want ck: imperator and i'm fine with playing/having the country in focus.

character driven vs state driven
It should be both, characters IMHO should be 100% simulation in this game, and state should be player controlled 60% and 40% historically accurate (no comunists in ancient time)

In 8h I will post my simulation for characters proposal. Please comment at will.

I:R wants to be the total game, politics, characters, trade, war.. with player control, some simulation and historical accuracy.

Is it possible? Is it desirable?

I really hope so - because exactly these kind of game I want. Thats what Im liking about Stellaris. You get it all!

Crusader King is too much character interaction while too less economy.
Europa Universalis is not enough about politics. And until now, no pops.
Hearths of Iron is not enough about politics and economy.
