Leaders of some countries are random

What platform are you playing on?
Steam

What game version are you running?
1.4.1

Please select any/all DLC you have enabled.
Hellenistic world flavor pack,
Epirus flavor pack,
Magna Graecia Content Pack

Do you have mods enabled? No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I don't know if this is a recent issue/bug, but most of the greek world in my game is chaotic. Ptolemy no longer rules Egypt, Pyrrhus is no longer in Epirus, Lysimachus doesn't rule Thrace, etc. There's even a 6-year-old Lagid girl ruling Heraclea Pontica. I guess what I'm getting at is the game is throwing random people into random locations (regardless of culture, gender, family, age, etc.)

Whenever I restart from the menu the issues remain but change, depending on the nation.

Thought I'd throw this out there just in case others are having the same problem

Also, the game is now randomizing character's parents even showing Females as fathers and males as mothers. Furthermore character's original family (ie the Lagid's, Antigonids, Seleucids, etc are randomized as well). I've validated the files twice now and the issues still remain

I have the same bug. Carthage is ruled by a 2-year-old boy. Macedon is ruled by a woman who has a wife and they have children together. A woman whose dynasty is in Egypt is commanding a Selekuid Empire and so on. None of the characters is how it should be. I have the same DLC and game version also on Steam. No mods enabled.

I had the same problem - reinstalled the game and it was still messed-up, so I uninstalled again, then deleted the imperator folder in documents/paradox interactive, deleted the imperator folder in steamapps because it was still there, deleted all workshop files - basically anything related to the game in any way got nuked from my hard drive. After I reinstalled I turned on the dlc one at a time just in case it was one of them. They were all fine, everyone is who they should be even after I turned my mods back on one by one. So give that a shot.

Did you have to start a new game to see the fixes?

I would say that this is due to game update and mods that were intended for an older version of the game. Uninstalled mods left behind some files that screwed up the game. But that's just my guess

It's setup files left behind or generated in the Documents folder, which causes the game to try to understand old setup files with the new system. By deleting the excess files, the game will be able to cleanly read the files as it should once more.

The fix isn't retroactive, so if you've started a game it won't be fixed. Not really a bug, it's just a consequence of how things are set up.
