Crash on December 1st tested on two campaigns

Please select any/all DLC you have enabled.
Do you have mods enabled? Yes
Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I tested the games performance by leaving it in observer mode, the performance ran fine.
I ran two tests (campaigns)
first one got to year "December 1st 893" then crashed to desktop.
Second campaign reached the year "December 1st 985"
version of game 1.4.1
the second campaign i had 3 mods used but the first I didn't, so it does really make a difference, mods or not on this problem.
