I have been a long-standing skeptic of this game's development. I was deeply concerned at some of the design decisions made in these past months, and generally I felt that Imperator was being simplified in ways that pushed it away from being the perfect simulator of the Hellenistic era I crave with every fiber of my being.
But the announcement that Johan is implementing dual consuls has changed my tune completely. I cannot understate how much of a factor that was in my pre-existing decision to not buy this game. The news that a full naval overhaul to remove the ludicrously basic and ahistorical system previously in place caught my eye as well.
I just want to thank Paradox for listening to the community of loyal and devoted fans who love what you guys put out, and recognizing that you can have good gameplay and satisfy the concerns of those who want an accurate and rich experience. It means a great deal, and I am excited to be able to play tomorrow.
Do more stuff like this. You guys got it right. The map is dope. And the more you add to the internal politics and government mechanics, the more I and people like me will be on board. Complexity is an asset.
