You know what I don't get? People say that Steam takes a 30% cut on the prize. If so; why don't they incentivise buying the games in their shop with maybe a 15% advantage on the Steam release. Have they some sort of oppressive contract with Steam that does not allow them to sell their own games cheaper?
Right, which makes it even more senseless from the customers perspective. If you need steam anyway, I'd rather buy it there and concentrate my personal date instead of giving it to paradox as well.When you buy in their shop, you get a steam key. I would bet that steam gets a good share of those sales too, even if it's less than what they get through steam direct sales.
Steam takes a cut off anything that goes through their store, including keys. There's literally no point in buying it through the Paradox store.I've never bought of the Paradox website, but if I can add the key to Steam, I'm more than happy to see my cash goto them without Steam's cut![]()
