Does pre-ordering give you something exclusive? Because if not following will still happen:
When patch is released the game will be full of bugs, these bugs won't be fixed until the hotfix that can come as early as next week. Plebs will give Mare Nostrum mixed rating because it adds too many new complex mechanics, the plebs will also come here to complain about the price "I would rather buy a beer than this DLC".
Personally we would consider pre-ordering if that would win us exclusive icon, as Paradox has done in the past.

Pre-ordering is leaving free room for bad business practices. By not pre-ordering, I incentivize to release quality product.

Last DLC had a -15% discount on it on Gamesplanet at release, being a college student (and a minmaxing EU-player) I hope I can spare some coins this time as well. If not, Paradoxplaza/Steam/Humble Store is still there with the full price.

No. Maybe i'll buy it when the next DLC comes out. Too much money for a DLC that for all i know to this day, is so disappointing imo.

That said, what makes you think naval gameplay will change at all? Because they added naval manpower? That's all they changed
Only thing about Mare Nostrum I care about is Condottieri, they sound fun

There is literally not a single benefit to preordering Mare Nostrum.
Not that I preorder games anyway (especially digitally distributed ones).

Na the changes look meh and theres not that much to the DLC. I only play MP now and IDK if it will even get used for that due to that corruption mechanic.

You know what I don't get? People say that Steam takes a 30% cut on the prize. If so; why don't they incentivise buying the games in their shop with maybe a 15% advantage on the Steam release. Have they some sort of oppressive contract with Steam that does not allow them to sell their own games cheaper?
Also, why should anyone in a clear mind ever pre-order? At least give us some bonus, a cut on the prize or the cosmetic pack of the previous DLC, you name it. it does not have to be worth much, but there has at least to be some incentive.
Besides, I recommend not buying MN until you've seen it, thought about it and are 100% sure that you want it, because, honestly, it does not look appealing in the slightest, to me at least.

Nope, probably not gonna buy it at all, gonna save cash for stellaris and hoi4. I may get it later though, when more expansions come out and when i get the urge to play eu 4. Need to take a break.

When you buy in their shop, you get a steam key. I would bet that steam gets a good share of those sales too, even if it's less than what they get through steam direct sales.
Right, which makes it even more senseless from the customers perspective. If you need steam anyway, I'd rather buy it there and concentrate my personal date instead of giving it to paradox as well.
I'll be buying it when I can play it, so while I wont be pre-ordering it, I'll be continuing my support for Paradox.
At over 1000 hours played for a cost that's in the region of £100 invested over the past couple of years, 10p / hour is the cheapest form of entertainment I've had in a long time!
I've never bought of the Paradox website, but if I can add the key to Steam, I'm more than happy to see my cash goto them without Steam's cut
