Just to fluff out a Russian AAR I am preparing, which features a Russian 'liberation' of the Balkans, in the manner of the excellent Mexican Empire, Onze Plaatz in the Zon etc AAR's, which include flags etc - I am trying to devise a Pan-Slav League flag (fluff for what is, in game, a collection of Balkan states as Russian satellites and puppets), and I am trying to come up with something original, the 1848 Prague Convention flag being inherently anti-Russian.

Other than perhaps including an Orthodox Cross, I am hampered by not being a Slav, and knowing little about Pan-Slav iconography. Ideas very much welcome.

The 1848 convention may have been 'anti-Russian', but the flag it chose has the same colours as the flag of Russia, only in a different order - blue, white and red. These are considered the 'Slavic colours', from what I gather (although they're also associated with some very prominent non-Slavic nations, such as France and the USA).

Hmm, interesting idea.

Since white blue and red ARE de facto now slavic colors, and Russia would be primary country in such arangement, you might as well go with today's Russian flag. And then place on the left small Western Slav flags, and on the bottom Southern Slav flags/symbols.
While you could sell this idea to the Southern Orthodox Slavs, it would be a much tougher sell to the Catholics.
