I miss nation flavor text.

It was always great to be able to click on a nation and read about their historical situation and all of that. It really does a good job of setting up the nation's place in the war, and perhaps giving new players a good idea of what to aim for with their nation. I don't know, does anyone else miss it?

i loved these country descriptions. read almost all of them. but who knows, maybe they'll be in the game and are just cut off in the demo

I miss them, as I miss being able to look up the other nations' leaders - maybe these features will come back - hope so!

I agree, but if I would have to chose between this and less time coding ai for example, I would chose ai. But it would be cool to read country desc. though, at least for the majors.

I hope that the expensive coders aren't doing nation research and descriptions...

Are you kidding? The minors are where this text is important! Most people have some idea of what Germany was up to...not so much in the case of Finland or the Phillipines, or Tannu Tuva...

Yeah, why was this done away with? Like viewing other countries ministers. HOI3 feels like any fluff or whatever you would call it has been stripped away.

Which is really unfortunate, because to a lot of us, fluff is just as important as the gameplay. This is the only area of the game I'm really disappointed with, especially since with the edition of political parties, this game had potential for having -more- fluff than Hearts of Iron 2.
