I love EU4 - I'm a huge fan. I've bought all the expansions and more than a few cosmetics.
BUT.
I get three subsciption advertisments trying to start up the game. First in steam, then in your launcher,
and a third time in the main menu. There seems to be no way to say 'no thankyou. Please go away'.

If the game becomes more and more an advertising platform...it's less of a game. And it's offering less as a result.

I paid you hundreds of euros already, Paradox. Can I enjoy the game without being told that I should pay more?

yeah - that game being discounted by 75% for most of the time now... that may be the price they may be willing to pay for. To some even 90% discount may not be enough

Paradox is publicly traded and now exists solely to maximize profits. Unfortunately for them it was a quite shortsighted decision since they occupy a niche that gets pretty easily saturated. As a result, even if you've already given them the deed to your house, they will also seek the clothes on your back since it will add that extra 1% towards their revenue at the end of the quarter.

Yes it does, funnily enough, I've been a subscriber since it was a beta feature, and I would actually love to turn the music addons off, but it's not possible.

one at a time they are in groups of 3 ut spread out on the list

I don't know how is the launcher when you are a subscriber but in nominal case, you can choose which of the owned DLC you want to turn off or on in the DLC launcher tab. Sometimes, I turned off some DLC when I don't want to play with the associated mechanics or if the AI is to bugged by expansion even if I bought them.

The subscriber launcher only allows you to turn off and manage DLCs that you actually own. Essentially it makes no difference.

Paradox basically treat their customers as cash cows waiting to be milked. It is hardly a surprise that they've continued down that path by triple advertising their annoying subscription, although it is still disappointing.

I've heard people literally ask for subscription as an option so I can't really blame Paradox for that part.

I do think you should just be asked once, however, with 3 answers:
Show me more, not right now, and never show me again.

Maybe it's just accidentally intrusive, but it feels like an unnecessary annoyance.

There is an ironman compatible mod on the workshop that gets rid of the subscription ad.
