Ah yes. Had a chance and good reason to learn more German. Too bad. :(
Thanks for the research. Hope
koch company gets things together quickly. Store24.de certainly did - no reason why this company can't.

Hello again,

Having refined my searches, i think i found the good one:
www.kochdistribution.co.uk/

which is more compatible with the announcement made by Paradox.
By the way Koch international seems to be a U.S. company so; maybe will it be the next step for our friends across the Atlantic. ;)

Crusader

I've e-mailed the company and briefly explained the heavy interest of people for EU. I asked them to expedite their sales effort, and let them know that many Americans were VERY interested also.

O.K. I take that back. All the mails I've tried don't get through.

I just did the same and requested any informations about foreign orders, pre ordering and any estimate for release adding congratulation for their smart move and good taste. :)
I think that for them, it's only a beginning in regards of the mails they will receive.
I will keep you posted if and when i recieve an answer.

finally, i want to congratulate Fredric Malmberg for the deal that is, i hope, to the advantage of Paradox and for his continuous efforts to spread the release of THE GAME.

Kind regards,
Crusader

My Crusading friend, how did you get thru? I e-mailed them using their 'contact us' list, selecting several of their people.
Perhaps I'm not using the correct British English? :)

Nothing got through!

Ah ... on their products list under Empire Interactive is the Wargamer (series; or at least planned as a series) - with Napoleon 1813 (which I bought) on it. Now if there were a way to fix up that game to make it more user friendly and COMBINE it with the grand strategy of EU, that would be a great game.

Delicate question: Publishing EU in U.K. first and separate seems to me against the original planning. Isn´t this in fact an indicator how bad the negotiations with U.S publishers are goin´? And isn´t this move hampering the efforts to find an U.S. publisher even further? (I mean: all the fans will buy the U.K. copy now!)

Hartmann

P.S. Of course I´m happy, that - due to the wisdom of an Austrian (sic!) company - our notgermanspeaking friends will have the game of their dreams soon! :D

Yeah, what he said. And will it not harm the chances of getting a US distributor or have Paradox decided that's not very likely anyway?

EU has been been seen on just a few websites, and not advertised at all in US gaming mags, as far as I know. So maybe the largest sales won't be coming from those of us who already know about it and will purchase it from a UK or a German publisher.

I have to think that the largest number of US & Canadian sales will come once this game gets onto store shelves and into US advertisements.
So perhaps the Euro sales, from where ever,
will actually boost sales to where a US publisher will want to make a deal, and the publisher won't have much worry about too many lost sales anyway.

Just a thought.

I would tend to agree with Kronn. The 100 or so English speakers that come to this site hardly represent the full target audience for a US release. The overwhelming majority of people that they would be trying to sell to in the US have never heard of this game, and would never have heard of it until it was on US shelves.

Of course, this view is biased, I just wanna order the game hehe.
