Is that an officially supported retailer?

Are you asking if that's a legit retailer? I'd have to assume so as the site looks professional and they've always provided me the keys for (few) the games I've bought off there (Attila: Total War, Football Manager 2015, Shadow of Mordor, Oceanhorn, El Dorado & AoW).

No the store is officially supported if they get their keys directly from steam/paradox. Some other stores buy retail cd keys in nations where they are really cheap and sell them again.

Checked around online and it seems like they get their keys from publishers, but don't take my word for it (as I'm only going by what other people, who I don't even know, are saying). They are listed on IsThereAnyDeal.com, if that's reassuring?

You have to be careful with brazilian and russian retailers though. Steam has regional locks since AFAIK April or September 2014. I bought art of war when it was released at nuuvem but now I'm afraid to buy el dorado - I'm not sure if it works.

What I would like to know is an estimated cost of annual ownership for EUIV for keeping current on DLC (or CKII, etc.). I've been gifting EUIV and CKII for a while now to nieces and nephews and there has been some parental blowback when preteens want to spend north of $100 on DLC (or in one case actually do so on dad's account without checking the prices).

With the old model, I could give a decent idea of how frequently expansions would come out and it wasn't as big a thing to be a few months behind the curve (so it was easier to gift the expansions when desired). Now, I really have no idea what it will cost and it seems like each DLC has some "pay-to-win" feature that makes buying it huge for kids.

It would be nice if there was something where it will be about $X per year to stay current and ~$Y with a two or three month lag so I could make sure that parents don't mind it before I gift it.

Well we can calculate the 2014 numbers. Keep in mind that a dlc was already in development and ready to be released at the start of the year so this year is probably going to be one of the more expensive.
CoP is 15
WoN is 10
RP is 5
AoW is 20

that's 50 excluding cosmetics for a good year.

The thing is that I also want to support the developers. you know I'm just crazy I guess.
Didn't yu say earlier you were poor? We understand that not everyone can buy everything, so just buy what you can afford. Better times will come!

Is that an officially supported retailer?
My understanding is that it is limited to residents of Brazil.

No-one, including anyone in Paradox, knows for certain anything beyond currently announced DLCs. I understand why you might want this, but it is just not possible since any such projections would virtually certainly be overtaken by reality. Just consider each DLC as it comes out, and see if you want and can afford it, or not.

This business is not like GRRM and GoT where he announces how many volumes there will be as it's all plotted out in advance. It is far more circumstantial.

I'm a college student and I really like Eu IV but I cant afford to pay 99.00 bucks to buy all of the DLC. You know?

If I understand it well (I have not tested it), you can for example buy only the DLCs you enjoy the most and skip the once you do not care much about. For example, if you do not really play in America, don't care about colonisation and do not want to design you own nation, you can skip El Dorado. In theory you might get most (?) of these features in the next DLC.

The way this works is that if we depend on a past expansion mechanic, the new expansion will also unlock this mechanic. Like how El Dorado unlocked privateers.

Please could anyone confirm that or correct me if I am wrong?

I myself would not mind to pay one-off high payment for some form of a PREMIUM version of a game, that would include all the future DLCs. The way it works for, example, in Battlefield. If I know, I am going to spend hundreds of hours on it and will enjoy every new DLC.

Instead of paying let's say 40 Euro for a game and 15 Euro for 1 DLC, I do not mind to pay one-off 90 Euro or whatever (just an example). It has obvious advantages for the developer as well.

That's why they have DLC in the first place. The product gets more expensive. And many people don't understand that. In order to have the complete game you will soon have to spend 200 Euros, and yes: I know you don't need to have them all. You can "cook" your own game from the given recipies but I'm a little old fashioned there and prefer the good old complete games with major addons worth their money.

As other said: There are so many steam sales where you can easily get all DLCs for just 50 percent, if not less sometimes. Of course, if you want to have every sprite pack, it gets very expensive, but its up to you if you think you want them or not. But sprite packs just add cosmetics. All major expansions for EU4 up to this point price at around 65 euros all together, without any discounts. I think thats quite affordable for a timespan of over a year.

I'm pretty sure that each of EU4's major gameplay DLCs and their associated free content-update patches for the base game holy crap have typically had a larger impact on gameplay than any one of EU3's expansion packs.

It works. I had to use a VPN for FM15 and Attila: Total War, however. It says which games are region locked or not under "Importante": "

It works when you buy it, but that doesnt mean in will work on steam. especialy when it comes to gifts crossing regions. This site says that el dorado doesn't work if you buy it in different region than yours steam IP.

If you can confirm otherwise I'll be very happy to buy it via VPN/proxy. Otherwise I'm afraid.

for the longer half of eu4 / ck2 i was just playing with a freind that got the dlcs for him self, so we always played MP and thats the best thing about it everyone in the mp seasson just gets the features as long as the host got them, thats why i love paradox.
