You could say I am a new 'convert' to EUII, having previoulsy been a fan of Civ1 and ignoring thee kind of strategy games in favour of flight sims over the recent years.
But, wow, what a great simulation this is!
I had to order the game from overseas, and would be very much obliged if some knowledgeable gent (or lady) could assist me in a few queries:
1) I brought this sim to entertain and to educate. I am sitting a year-long course in my final year of secondary school (prior to entering uni) and am studying England, Conflict and Change 1550 - 1659 (or something around those dates
). The study is a broad, in-depth look at all facets of the society at that point and the change that occured. Could someone give me some hints on how to best use EUII as an educational tool?
2) Also, being a kiwi, I had to get my boxed game from overseas. None of the patches I have tried work! (tried 3/4 of them). The game is published by Typhoon Games (as well as Paradox, obvioulsy) HK, where I presume HK is Hong Kong. Of additional confusion is that, in my EU folder, I have three EU shields to launch the game under any of three settings: latin, normal or svensk. Any ideas on the patch I should give a go?
