I am absolutely fed up with firms offering small addons that should have been provided in the game for extra money. At least Sega with ETW after they got such a slagging off for their terrible game actually released some extras for free. I remember when developers actually provide several options for you to select how you want to play for the price of the game itself. What is next - paying for the patches to make the game work?

you wont be heard as long as people are on this forum saying that HOI is underpriced and that they would gladly pay 5.99+ for a silly music/ graphics add on.

im sure the dev's are seeing that and going welp give em what they want.

I do not follow your line of reasoning here. Hearts of Iron 3 on its own already has more sprites than Hearts of Iron 2 did. However we had two clear choices, cut programming time and give you more sprites (One option was we could of halved our AI development time and instead started to do something else with the programming time), or try to make the best AI as we could (we we felt was essentail) and give you the option to buy more sprites if you wanted them. Hey maybe in future we will sell out and sacrafice AI for pretty sprites, it seems to me what the fans want.

If people want to buy silly things, like extra music and spirits, things that doesn't affect the game, why shouldn't Paradox give them what they want?

Oh come on, they're just the ones who don't really understand that their favorite company still has to make money from them.

The best explanation I saw from you guys was that the sprite packs were only done when you decided to charge money for them. Fine by me. Everything we can download for money won't be game affecting, its just bling.

I hope Paradox stops making challenging yet easy to learn games with moderate graphics and go straight to making short massivly buggy pretty games that dont have any ai or challenge at all. Definatly not enough of those in the market now.;)

I mean HOW DARE THEY give you the opion to buy EXTRA sprites to customize your game if you want. What paradox should have done is make the sprite packs REQUIRED to be purchased to play the game in the first place.

Please clarify something for me. HoI3 has more sprites than HoI2 had. Then what is in the sprites pack? HoI2 contained both US and German sprites. Unique sprites for every aircraft type, armors, etc? Or what? Sorry for the dumb question.

The german sprite pack will have all panzer models, the bismark, several different airplane types and maybe something else I'm forgetting. So you get all sorts of country specific models when you buy the pack. I believe you still get country specific models without the bling packs, but not as many (so your units won't always be "accurately" represented.)

If I buy the game through Steam, will I be able to use sprite packs purchased through GG with my Steam install of the game? Will Steam offer them?

No idea about what steam will offer, but since the steam version should be pretty much the same as all the others there should be no problem in buying a sprite pack from GG.
