I know that Rome was important, but many ancient games are practically "Rome and the rest". As someone who has little interest in Rome and is more interested in the East (Diadochi, Anatolia, parthians and so on) I hope that the rest also gets love.
it would seem like there will at least be very distinct government types.Different Government Types: Manage the senate in a Republic, hold your court together in a monarchy, answer to the clans in a tribal system.

Eh, just because other nations exist does not mean that they're been fleshed out.Just look at the map... the rest has a lot of love too.

Now I'm confident that Paradox will have interesting nations that are not Rome but this isn't really strong evidence in favor of it.
It could be like Europa Universals 4 - all nations being basically the same, save for some traits ("national ideas"). I hope they will make an effort for each culture/government system to feel much more unique than that.Eh, just because other nations exist does not mean that they're been fleshed out.

But it did show that they did a lot of research into for exemple regions like Galicia.
Or Tartessos in Southern Spain.
You know, the place which was a myth, or if it even existed, it did like 500 years before the start of the game.
SEMI-mythical. Also:
"In the 4th century BC the historian Ephorus describes "a very prosperous market called Tartessos, with much tin carried by river, as well as gold and copper from Celtic lands"."
How is the 4th century BC 500 years before 303 bc?
Yeah, considering sometimes how hard some areas in EUIV can be to cover properly, doing a historical 100% accurate rome map is neigh impossible because we don't have that sort of data for every square inch of the world, they gotta fill the blanks somehow.
I'm really curious to how the colonization mechanics will work, will it allow advanced states to colonize primitive states without going to proper war? Migration mechanics? while the game probably won't last to the migration era proper, we still see wholesale volkeswanderungs in the era (teutons and Cimbri, Helveti etc)
