These events are mostly for Russia of the late 1800's and early 1900's.
I was surpirsed some of our national prides like the St.Issac's Cathedral and Saviour on the Blood is not in the game. All late 1800's start of 1900's.
I have events in mind for creation.
I am using spoonists event creator.
And I wanted to see how best I shuld format my events for compatibility for the next VIP version?
How should I name the ID's?

event = {
id = 666
random = no
trigger = {
exists = RUS
}
name = "Savior on the Blood"
desc = "Nice stories I will add :) "
picture = default
date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1905 }
offset = 30
deathdate = { day = 30 month = december year = 1905 }
action_a = {
Name = "Build it with donations from the Russian Peoples!"
ai_chance = 80
command = { type = plurality value = -2 }
command = { type = pop_cash which = Orthodox value = -200 where = 0 }
}
action_b = {
Name = "Build it with State Funds!"
ai_chance = 20
command = { type = plurality value = -2 }
command = { type = remove_countryculture which = Russian }
}
}

An example of an event I will create using Spooners creator?
Everything seems to be in order?
And lastly, I need some direction. What should I focus on in the Russian events?
I was going to focus on decreasing some of the plurality that makes playing Russia as a monarchy so hard in the later ages, starting around 1870 if you tried to keep the plurality down.

Or what else should I do?
Or should I add Flavour events with no consequence?
If so I will add flavour events to countries which I never played before but might give a small prestige boost to some minor country. :D

Generally what direction should I take?
Should I post them first and you masters later tweak them? :D
I focus on later ages.

And to everyone else. Try picking up Spooners event Creator and make some events yourself. It is very easy and fun!
I did notice that Spooner's event creator is not adapted to VIP, so no Krepostnoy.
But no problem since I will be working in the post crimean age.

Any and all events are appreciated :D More cultural events certainly wouldn't do any harm. And yes, Russia could maybe be done with a slight plurality decrease towards the start of the 20th century. Not too much mind, we still would like Russia to be a seething pot of discontent, just one which requires slightly less whack-a-mole.

That said, the last line looks a bit as if Russia will lose Russian as a state culture if it selects option b.

The Saviour on Blood Cathedral event is in as a flavour event in the next version (work done by Old Joe). There are actually quite a number of events added already for the next version for Russia. Because of this, I'll write up a list of Russian events (including those in the next version of VIP) and post them in this thread. Hopefully that will stop duplicates being created.

EDIT:

Here you go. Here are the Russian events. Hope that helps prevent you doing any work unnecessarily! :)

251299 - The Socialists In Power In Russia

Also notice that flavour events are in the range XXX850-XXX999. This is something which we are aiming to do in event file re-organisations (or at least the XXX900-XXX999 range for countries with less flavour events).

Alright cool.
I noticed that the OHKRANKA is completely missing from any Russian event files, (unless it is spelled different).
This was a service to combat Left-Wing terrorism, aka rebels :D In the 1900's.
In our nostalgic view of Tsarist Russia I would recognize that there was no discontent...
But I guess the official opinion is that Russia is a pool of discontent at this period.
I don't understand the game enough to make any large events altering large amounts of plurality but I think the pluraity should stay rise heavily in the build up to revolution...
Because I found that the "revolution" is best to occur around 1870 not 1920 :D
.

So I will think of some ohkrana scenarios.... its a start but the hardest part is wondering, how will this affect the game?:wacko:

name = "Toleration of Prostitutes in Russian Empire"
desc = "In 1843, prostitution was declared tolerance, the police should seek out women who have made a profession of prostitution, to put them on record and brought to a medical examination; for these purposes in St. Petersburg, Moscow and several other major cities have been set up special medical and police committees. There were two main categories of prostitutes: ticket (working in a brothel) and blank (running on rented apartments under the supervision of pimps). Prostitute was required to report to the police and subjected to inspection and medical examination, 2 times a week (the rule was abolished in 1909). Prostitutes were issued special yellow passports, called "yellow card". In Russia in 1890, brothels, where numbered at 1262, secret dens 1232, prostitutnyh brothels 15 365, singles 20 287 (these are the minimum numbers, in fact, probably more). Public houses in Russia were divided into three categories. In the brothels of the highest category for the visit was paid 100 rubles, and the daily rate was 5-6 people. Everything seems to be in order? I know the format is ruined when I moved it unto forum for some reason :(
Is there any problems with the formatting? :D
If none then I will sail away and make more :D

Looks good to me! The only issue I notice instantly is that the description is too long (though that can be eliminated by being put in te event_text.csv file anyway). Looks good! :)

If you are planning oncreating lots of events for Russia then I would recommend creating them and submitting them on our development forum on terranova.dk as that helps us keep track of thigs better.

Yes, I made one today and was waiting for responses to make sure I am making events right.
I have never modded before, and I am young. Almost going to be 18.
I have played Victoria only since 2008 so it is all new to me and very fun.
So I will submit my events later as a bundle.
But all seems to work well with the Event Creator from Spoonist.

//
What is the Event.csv?
I never heard of a maximum length of event descriptions before.
Oh and an improvement of the event title, Sexual Liberalization of Russia :cool:

Sounds good! :D
What is the Event.csv?
In the config folder. It's where long text can be stored and referenced for events (therefore removing the word limit).

Yeah. I tend to find it's about just over 5 lines in Times New Roman size 12. I'm sure there is an exact number of characters mind.

Haha! I was quite shocked at how liberal that was for Tsarist Russia!

Well it's something we can do for you anyway when incorporating, so I wouldn't worry too much. I can't really explain it in a succinct manner, so I'd just recommend looking in events files for something like 'EVTXXXXXXN' (XXXXXX is the ID number), and then finding the same thing in the events_text.csv file. It should become clear what is done. One thing also worth noting is that you have to edit the events_text.csv in a word processing program - it messes up if edited in excel for some reason.

How do you make a "Add_Pop" command?
I can understand, the variables, Which=Russian
Where=(numerical values.... is this province ids?)
Value=(numbers, 1-100... what is 1 and what is 100?)

This is for Old Believers appearing in South America events, so it is for Brazil, Bolivia etc. (can end up having small russian communities in the jungle :) )

Works like this:

Code:
		command = { type = add_pop which = british value = 0.0242 where = 2749 }	#2420 Farmers

As a general rule, however, VIP only includes that command where it is absolutely necessary as that migrant group made a distinct impact on that region's history (i.e. migrants to Australia/New Zealand, etc...). Not sure on the importance of Russians in the Amazon.

I would also like to mention that you'll have to be careful with the numbers - they'll just assimilate in states if under a certain amount (depending on a few variables, of course, though in the Americas it is pretty much guaranteed).

yeah I wasn't so sure as the event either, I was just playing Brazil and wanted to tell what others would think of this. And right now I am a crazy assimilating empire.

How do you find province ID's?
