The rapid expansion of Masillia and Macedonia. This forces you as Rome to do things that didn't happen historically at all. Playing as Rome I would opt for a slow steady expansion. The problem is that you have to go after both to prevent them from expanding like crazy as time goes on. This makes you go to war with nations you don't need or want to goto war with and it makes you occupy provences that you don't want yet. There has to be some solution to slowing down colonization.
