Does the battle plans system work? Is the AI as boneheaded and bad as it looked in other videos?
The AI battle plan works good enough that I use it for my general advance and sometimes make a bit more detailed plan. I do like to keep control of my units when I see opportunities though so it is not as good as a player. It works well for a general advance for your troops though and saves a lot of micromanagement in that regard.

Why are you answering questions when you have access to the game!!!
To help you guys out who don't have access to it. And don't worry I switch back and forth between the game. I need to show the German that they are not boss in Europe at least 3 times per day!

In the WWW, we nearly always saw infantry spam. Somtimes coupled with some fighters.

Do you fell, that tanks, or tactical/strategic bombers do a difference in the later games? Or is the infantry so cheap/powerful, that it is allways the best idea, to focus just on infantry?

How good is the AI at garrisoning/defending a large or 2 fronted country? Say you are Germany, once you give troops to an ai/field marshall and tell it to garrison the whole of Germany, does it split its forces to evenly cover both borders and the sea (plus high vp provinces)?

did they achieved to stay of from the micromanagementclusterf*ck that was Hoi3 but still managed to have an in depth Game?

EDIT: also whats the difference between collectivist propaganda and positive heroism in the Soviet focus tree?

Did you played ahistorical ? Just watched an Italian stream, germany had all his troops at war with USSR, but whatever, declare war on France, so GB, and Denmark 1 month later, and Netherland/belgium 3 months later, without adding any troops to those front : so Germany is totally losing. That IA was terrible...
Did you encounter something like that ?

How many naval dockyards does AI build through the game? I saw that everyone starts with very few of them and I wonder if AI focuses on expanding its number, or does it just go for military and civilian factories instead?

As for the screenshots, could you post a few showing resources in the world?

Tanks are really good at encircling enemies or being really though and stopping them in their tracks. Infantry is really powerful in the game (perhaps a bit to much?) but if you have the production means than tanks are in no doubt better (you will run into manpower problems if you have a high production and just push out infantry).

As for bombers, they are worth it in my opinion. Once again only if you can spare the industry for them since you need air superiority as well. But it can cripple a country completely since you can shut down their supply (infrastructure) and their industry which means that they run a big deficit on equipment making them much easier targets for your army.

What does the Italian focus "Libyan oil prospects" or whatever it was called do?

Prospect for Oil gives you 8 oil in a province. There is a follow up Libyian refineries which gives an additional 4 oil and 2 synthetic plants in a province.

Garrisons are not ment to protect the border. They are for protecting key targets from para drops and from invasions while they are also useful to stop partisan activities. It does split the forces quite well and I use the garrison in every game so far.

How would you compare HoI4 against the previous games of the series that you have played? (I spied at least DH and HoI3 icons.)

I am not allowed to make review statements of the game so I can't really do a comparison. What I can say is that the game runs quite smooth in a way that it is intuitive and information is easily accessible when you want it.

What is the structure of the Nat Chinese divisions in '39?

Why do I ask? Becasue in practice the ROC divisions were small and the corps of 3 would be most comparable to a Japanese division, so natural to treat and fill the template as an actual corps.

I see, how would you defend your border then, make a special army and lasso the garrison command on that specific border only? I'm thinking along the lines of allowing the AI to defend one border/front while I have fun on another. Thanks
