I hate the Calendar

You should put that thing off, as I get full of hopes and dreams, and each time the date for the new patch is reported, my dreams are crushed.

There's no point of releasing a date if it's to report it later on...

So please, please, stop telling us dates if you're not sure about it! It's just plain evil. I liked it better when I had no hopes whatsoever.

I like the Calendar. Better to know that it's being worked on, and not to know the date, than to not know anything at all.

If you don't want to know the expected release dates for new patches, then don't read the information provided. Most people, however, do want to know.

I won't argue on that anymore as I don't want to get kicked, but to tell us that the patch will be off probably in january is better that to announce a fixed date, and report it two or three times over. When you put deadlines, you have to be sure to make them. If not, there's no point of making any deadlines. That's what I wanted to say.

To be honest, that is the catch.

If they say nothing, we won't get our hopes up but we lose faith.

If they tell us tentative dates and miss them then we are resentful.

The only way to win is pump out patches perfectly which is not going to happen.

That the date keeps getting pushed back is not a sign that they're getting our hopes up or trying to deceive us, it's just that they're being honest enough to keep pushing the date back so that we know when the patching process is taking longer then expected.

They can never fully anticipate the problems with writing and testing the patch, and they'll put it out when it's finished. At least this way we have some idea when that will be.

If you followed the discussion on this forum, you would know that all dates were prefaced with caveats that the dates were tentative dependent upon beta testing results. Things do not always go as anticipated, and that has been borne out in the current progress on the patch.
