First they reveal they are filling in Tibet, a place I have been hoping would be playable instead of wasteland for a long time. then they reveal they are fleshing out Manicheanism, a religion I have been hoping would get more mechanics because I just find it neat, as well as adding a few new religions, including Bon in Tibet. Fantastic.
And now flipping China?! That''s it, I am officially hyped for this next DLC, so far this has been everything I have been hoping for in the eastern edge of the map.
Great job, Paradox.
Love that they're filling in Tibet, and I love that they're fleshing out the Manichean religion.
But, the fact that they're not extending the map to include China is a major disappointment for me. Putting a powerful entity in the game that can launch invasions into your territory, but you're powerless to strike back at is pretty lame.
On top of that, I was looking forward to the challenge of taking on China as a nomad. Explore and conquer new lands and peoples, and all that.
This way of handling China just seems like a fancy facade since you can't actually physically interact with the main Empire.
Yeah, same here.
And if this DLC were to add a bureaucratic government type...that would be extremely nice.
They might add in a new government type for China, but it honestly seems like a lot of work when they're only adding in one, typically minor, physical realm to the game. Especially when this"Western Protectorate" (or whatever it's called) isn't the actually run by the Emperor, just one of his agents.
So, they could probably say that the Protectorate's relationship with the Emperor isn't really feudal, but the Protectorate itself functions basically like a feudal realm-- in the event that they didn't want to go through the trouble of coming up with a whole new government type. My money is on them not taking the trouble.
