So I could not wait and got AoW and after a hands-off game (I know it's not much but still), these are my considerations about the game:
- you can now see horses and camels! And the aztec soldiers wear a cute mask
- Manchu area: same imbalance as before, Korea aggressive and super strong went on to conquer all the manchu tribes with her ally krochin, she also conquered half of Japan... Ming and Oirat very strong
- Timurids super stable and strong: lots of rebellions but they have no problem getting rid of them, basically same as 1.7
- Poland lucky mauled the Ottomans. Ottomans have a tough time facing Poland AND Austria in Europe
- Spain-France-England way more balanced, seems ok now
- Netherlands did not form
- Very weird Denmark-Sweden relations: in 1.7, they would trade a few provinces, now Denmark is able to conquer half of Sweden in a war, Sweden becomes a patchwork mess
- Brandenburg survives a bit better
- 30 year war was won by protestants but so far the catholics did not try to regain power. It's a fun mechanic but there should be more than 1 war..
- nationalist/patriot rebels seem very weak overall. paesant/pretender/noble rebels way stronger
- coalitions non existent
- i got a few crashed but performance is same or better than before
- AI changes rivals way more often, well done here
Overall nice effort but still balance issues remain from 1.7 and new ones have arisen
